AiG recently participated in the 59th National Missionary Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, where Dr. David Crandall, along with Paul McDorman, spoke on, “Creation Evangelism: Why it Works When Other Methods Fail.” Dr. Terry Mortenson spoke on “Biblical Creationism: Communicating with Intellectuals about Evolution.” Approximately 11,000 people (as many as 100 countries were represented) attended this convention which comes to Cincinnati next year. The following testimonies were shared during the convention: After attending Dr. Crandall’s talk, Lydia Shaw of Norfolk, Nebraska said she felt convicted to buy a case of Evolution Exposed to share with the ...

My journey to AiG

Guest blog--Dr. Georgia Purdom, AiG speaker and researcher. One of the things I enjoy hearing most from others at AiG is how they came to work here. So I thought I would share my story. Six years ago during a private devotional time the Lord laid on my heart that I needed to figure out what I believed and why I believed it concerning the issue of origins. He especially spoke to me through I Peter 3:15. I knew I didn’t have an answer when it came to this issue and it definitely ...
Guest blog--Dr. Georgia Purdom, AiG speaker and researcher This past Tuesday morning Dan Lietha, AiG artist, shared the second half of his personal testimony (see Phenomenal Testimony, November 20th for the first half). Dan shared with us about his art school years, first jobs (including one for a company called Mello Smello!), and the continuing influence of the Helwig family in introducing him to his wife Marcia and to Answers in Genesis. I know you will be blessed as we were--just click on the video below.

“Survivor” of the fittest

Guest blog--Dr. Georgia Purdom, AiG speaker and researcher. Another interesting TV show this season is the latest installment in the “Survivor” series on CBS. This one subtitled “Cook Islands” has an interesting twist. The teams were initially divided into tribes on the basis of “ethnicity” (the CBS website for the show seems to avoid the controversial term race): Asian-American, Caucasian, Latino, and African-American. Here are some memorable quotes from the first episode: “I’m a little worried that it might play out to caricatures and stereotypes.”- Yul from Asian-American tribe. “Different ethnic groups…I mean is that kosher?”- Parvati from ...

Guest blog--Dr. Georgia Purdom, AiG speaker and researcher I was talking to a colleague of mine the other day about several comments my daughter had made and he said, “good job on the thorough creationization' of your daughter!” (all credit must go to Dan Lietha, AiG illustrator, for the coining of this term). I’m not sure I have a definition of the word but let me give you some examples from several interactions I have had recently with my daughter (Elizabeth). Mommy: What do you think dinosaurs ate when God first created them? Elizabeth: Blueberries Mommy: Who made the gorgeous sun ...

Who are the real “Heroes”?

Guest blog -- Dr. Georgia Purdom, AiG researcher and speaker. We all talk about the liberal media and how TV is getting worse and worse so I guess NBC’s new show “Heroes” should come as no surprise. The show falls in the superhero genre although not quite like I remember as a kid following the adventures of Spiderman and Superman. Its time slot is supposed to discourage being watched by younger viewers, but I am quite sure many kids are attracted by its fantasy quality and its ...
Guest blog--Mike Riddle, AiG speaker Last week AiG hosted a booth at the National Youth Workers Convention here in Cincinnati. There were over 4,200 youth pastors and youth workers that attended the convention. Numerous people stopped by the AIG booth. A lot came up and just thanked us for coming and said they have been waiting for us to have a booth at this convention! A great number also came up and said that they had not heard of the ministry, but left encouraged by the message of upholding the authority of the Word of God! ...
