Atheists Preaching the Anti-gospel Across America
Published October 3rd, 2007 in Around AiG, Thoughts and ThingsOne of the latest news reports from the United Kingdom concerns Britain’s leading atheist, Dr. Richard Dawkins from Oxford University, who is out to try to convert Americans to be atheists. The news report states:
“Britain’s leading atheist is spearheading a campaign in America to
challenge the dominance of religion in every day life and in politics,
insisting that the millions of US godless deserve to be heard too.”
The news report continues:
“What did he hope an atheist bloc in the US might achieve? I would free children from being indoctrinated with the religion of their parents or their community. I would like to free everyone from the assumption you have to be religious in order to be a decent person or to be moral. Obviously stem cell research and all the interference with scientific research that goes on [should stop]. Obviously the whole creationist interference with education [should stop] but I think, more positively, I would like to see people encouraged to rejoice in the world in which they find themselves, the universe in which they have been born, to take full advantage of the tiny slice of eternity they have been granted.”
What a great message of hope for the world—“enjoy life, rejoice in this world, because then you die and you won’t know you were ever alive, and you won’t know you knew anything, and everyone else who dies who knew you then won’t know they knew you and they won’t know anything or know they ever knew anything—and then you die; the whole universe will die a heat death, and no one will know they ever existed or that this universe existed—so drink, eat and be merry because this is all there is.” What a message of hopelessness and purposelessness! This is the message Dawkins wants children and adults indoctrinated with. In fact, if there is no purpose and meaning to the universe, as atheists like Dawkins understand, what is the point of them even fighting Christians? Why bother doing anything? What is the point in staying alive anyway if they will soon never know they were alive!? The few years of this life are NOTHING compared to eternity–NOTHING!! This message of hopelessness and purposelessness in reality is the message Dawkins is spreading across the world. Such a message will lead to despair—people who understand the consequences will recognize there is no point in living. Why not do what you want? Why not kill people if you want—get what you want if you can get away with it? Why not?
It certainly makes me realize even more the importance of Answers in Genesis in telling the world about the real purpose and meaning of life—and also helping everyone understand that they are sinners separated from their Creator—but our Creator stepped into history to pay the penalty for our sin and offers us a free gift of salvation—to be able to live in Heaven with our Creator for eternity.
Don’t be like Dawkins—despite his blind faith in atheistic belief, he is going to live for ever, but separated from His Creator unless he obeys Romans 10:9—“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
The article continues:
“Dawkins is angry at the way children are indoctrinated into faiths and takes issue with the unimpeachable taboos that protect religions from rational scrutiny.”
In other words, Dawkins is angry that people like AiG are teaching children they are special, made in the image of God—but they are also sinners, which is why they (like Dawkins) will one day die. However, the Bible teaches us the truth about why we die and how we can live with our Creator—there is wonderful purpose and meaning in life. Dawkins wants to indoctrinate children in a purposeless philosophy that teaches them they are no different than a fruit fly—no different than an animal—that is the ultimate child abuse.

I’ve included a photo today of one of our talented young sculptors, Travis, who just became engaged to be married. His fiancée’s name is Marcie (of Michigan), and they are planning on getting married next June. He drove up to Michigan to propose to her.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying.
