We were thrilled once again to host a group from Shepherds Ministries (located in Wisconsin). Shepherds Ministries is a non-profit organization existing for the purpose of glorifying God by assisting qualified individuals with mental disabilities to reach their potential for growth and training others to minister in similar ways.
If you have never heard of Shepherds, I encourage you to visit their website and to pray and support them (www.shepherdsministries.org). During their visit, they told us they were starting a college programâtwo majors: culinary arts and horticultureâand were asking for people to let this be made known.
The group that visited was a handbell choir. They played the handbells and also quoted Scripture (the way some of them quoted passages of Scripture that would put some without mental handicaps to shame!).
Shepherds have an open invitation to visit AiG/Creation Museum whenever they are in the area. And, of course, we gave them free entrance to the museum to spend whatever time they wanted in this facility. I have included two photographs of the group from Shepherds as they presented to the entire AiG staff on Thursday morning this past week.
HOTEL FEEDBACK
Many hotels in our local area (as well as bed and breakfasts) see a lot of Creation Museum guests. Here is some interesting feedback from one of the hotels:
A gal working at our desk . . . had a coach in for two days (thanks to you gals) . . . . I was talking to a couple of the ladies and telling them goodbye, and the gal at the front . . . says to me, âThese groups come in, and it’s great to see people so âgenuinely happy and fulfilled through their religion?ââ
. . . [I] told her âYes, I can tell you from personal experience that it can give you a peace that nothing else can fulfill, it has for meâ
. . . I thought it was such an awesome observation. Just thought Iâd pass it along! Thanks so much for the opportunity to have these groups here!
ANSWERS MAGAZINE IS ALSO GREAT FOR KIDS
Not only does AiG have a kids website, but there is a special center lift-out mini-magazine for kids in the outstanding Answers magazine. And, of course, the main part of the magazine has so many articles suitable for a wide range of ages. One subscriber wrote:
Just wanted to say thank you for having this magazine. We have had just about every kids magazine in the past but were very unhappy with what and how kids were taught in them. Just this past year I allowed them all to expire. Then you were found! I located you through an online girls magazine called Growing in Grace talking about Ben Steinâs new movie. This will be very refreshing, as we homeschool our kids.
To subscribe (like over 60,000 others) to Answers magazine, go to the AiG website.
FAITH âRAVAGED . . . WHILE ATTENDING UNIVERSITYâ
We really do praise the Lord for the way He continues to use the AIG ministry in the lives of people. Rejoice with us as you read this testimony:
I am thrilled to be able to once again begin receiving the magazine offered by Answers in Genesis. My husband and I were first introduced to Answers in Genesis back in 1991 when we began attending a church that was using the 10-volume VHS series on creation vs. evolution with Ken Ham and Gary Parker. God used those messages to solidify our faithâto shore up our foundationsâthat had been ravaged while attending university.
I thank God for your ministry and praise Him for how He has enlarged your borders of influence so that others may learn the importance of a foundation laid firmly in the very beginning.
USING ANSWERS TO WITNESS
We receive many testimonies on a daily basis at AiG. This short one shows how people are using AiG material to witness to othersâthe message is spreading. The more the information gets out thereâthe more people are challenged:
We thoroughly enjoy reading the [Answers] magazines and my husband has often taken it into work to use in witnessing to someone. Thank you for all you do!
âAiG SAVED ME FROM MY COLLEGEâ
Yesterday I spoke to a packed audience in the SFX theatre in the Creation Museum (great crowd yesterdayâaround 1200âthis next week attendance since opening will reach 370,000). At the book signing in the Dragon Hall Bookstore, one young man told me that he was brought up on AiG material because his church had purchased many AiG resources. Because his church had used AiG material and shown AiG DVDâs, he said this âsavedâ him from his college years, where the Christian faith was attacked. He praised the Lord that the leaders of his church had understood the importance of teaching the answers he would need, and teaching him to defend the Christian faith, using the resources provided by AiG. How I praise the Lord for such testimonies.
As I signed books yesterday, I asked people where they were fromâGeorgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Canada, Californiaâand many other places. Everyday we see people coming from all across the USA and other countries!! What a blessing.
DEVOTION
Tongue and lips
(Pro 10:20-21) The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
In ourselves our tongue and lips do not bless, but filled with and yielded to the Holy Spirit He gives us just the right words to say so we become a blessing.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying.
