Children Saved Through AiG VBS Program
Published July 31st, 2008 in My Journeys, Museum Updates, Ministry Updates
We have had many testimonies from churches/organizations who used AiG’s VBS program, Amazon Expedition. I included this exciting testimony because the church also sent a photograph of those who were involved in the VBS program at this church:
We wanted to send a letter of thanks to Answers in Genesis for the outstanding VBS material that you offered this year. We took your Amazon Expedition last week and were very impressed with the program. From the crafts to the snacks, your organization was very helpful in a logistically successful week. However, we praise the Lord for the ...
It was good to see longtime AiG friend Dr. Phil Giessler of the Cleveland, Ohio, area here at the museum again on Monday—along with his wife, Inez. As is his habit now, this respected Lutheran theologian and scholar took advantage of his Creation Museum membership and brought some more guests with him on his return visit (using guest passes that are allotted to museum members).
Christian newspaper publisher and editor Herman Otten—of the national newspaper Christian News (which is particularly well known in Lutheran circles)—and his wife, Grace, met up with their old friend Phil here in northern Kentucky ...
A Fallen World and Need for Security
Published July 29th, 2008 in Ministry Updates, Feedback
Once again we have seen more incidents of violence directed toward Christian organizations.
This past weekend police in State College, Pennsylvania, shot and killed a man who threatened violence against a Christian radio station and rammed police cars as they attempted to stop his entry into the station. They ultimately had to shoot and kill the offender.
And then on Sunday a gunman (with a shotgun hidden in a guitar case) entered a church in Knoxville, Tennessee, during a children’s play and opened fire on the 200 members of the congregation in attendance, killing the 60-year-old usher at the door and one ...
The Answers Book for Kids Hits the Shelves
Published July 28th, 2008 in Ministry Updates
At the end of last week, I saw the first copies of two of our Answers Book for Kids series that is being published by creation publisher Master Books. AiG staff member Cindy Malott and I spent many hours working on these two publications (the next two are still being worked on).
Our New Answers Books 1 and 2 for teens and adults have been so popular (Answers Book 1 being the biggest-selling and most-read creation apologetics book in the world) that our publisher came up with ...
A Dragon Bookworm?
Published July 27th, 2008 in My Journeys, Museum Updates, Around AiG
I have included two photographs of the new dragon sculpture that will be installed in the Dragon Hall Bookstore in about a couple of months. Congratulations to sculptor Jessie Pie (and other sculptors at AiG) for this remarkable job!
500,000 THIS WEEK
Sometime this week, the half-millionth visitor to the Creation Museum since opening almost 14 months ago will walk through the door. People keep pouring in to the Creation Museum day after day.
UK VISITORS
I have included a photograph of two visitors from the UK who ...
On Thursday, we had the privilege of welcoming the Waggoner family to the Creation Museum. Several months ago, the Dream Factory (something like the “Make-A-Wish Foundation”) of western New York state informed us that one of Daniel Waggoner’s dreams was to visit the Creation Museum. You can imagine how honored we were to help make Daniel’s dream come true.
The Waggoners are from the Syracuse, New York, area and have been supporters of Answers in Genesis (they attended an AiG meeting in Binghamton last year). They had followed the building of the Creation Museum and were very pleased with everything ...
500 “Gideon Kids” at the Creation Museum
Published July 25th, 2008 in My Journeys, Around AiG
It was an unusually busy day inside the Creation Museum and AiG headquarters. As well as the usual 1500 or so museum visitors for a Thursday, buses pulled into the Creation Museum yesterday with nearly 500 young people of the families of those involved in a Gideon convention in Louisville (one-and-a-half hours southwest of us) this week.
I've included a number of photographs of the Gideon kids including some of the buses they traveled on.

I was thrilled on Wednesday to meet a very special visitor at AiG—Gracia Burnham. Gracia is the widow of Martin Burnham and the mother of Jeff, Mindy, and Zach. For 17 years she and Martin served with New Tribes Mission in the Philippines, where Martin was a jungle pilot delivering mail, supplies, and encouragement to other missionaries and transporting sick and injured patients to medical facilities. Gracia served in various roles supporting the aviation program and also home-schooled their children—all of which were born in the Philippines.

Answers in Genesis was recently presented with an award honoring the entire ministry. The award was presented to AiG last Friday evening by the National Association of Christian Financial Consultants, a group of investment professionals committed to investment and financial planning disciplines centered upon biblical principles.
NACFC is one of the largest association of Christian financial consultants in the world (with nearly 300 Christian financial planners from almost every state in the U.S.) and is the longest-standing organization of Christian financial consultants. The award is presented to one person each year, and it was presented with a specially prepared proclamation in ...
Sometime ago we heard of a book that had been produced called Weird Kentucky by Jeffrey Scott Holland.
Recently a staff member saw the book in a store and purchased it. One can see the sort of book it is just by looking at the contents page:
And yes—you guessed it—the Creation Museum features in this publication. Of course, if the inaccuracies/misrepresentations on the one page about the Creation Museum are representative of the obvious poor and inaccurate research conducted for this item—then that doesn’t say much for ...
