Answers Read in Kenya
Published October 7th, 2008 in Current Issues in the World, Feedback, My JourneysIt was great to receive this feedback this week from a missionary in Kenya who gets AiG’s Answers magazine. The missionary wrote:
I have been reading Answers . . . the latest issue (October–December 2008) is probably the best issue yet. The “Big picture” of earth’s history put everything into proper perspective and although I’ve been a six-day creationist all of my life, this issue caused me to think about some events in earth’s history and their subsequent results in a slightly different way. Here in Kenya where I live and minister and where the Leaky family is idolized as heroes for unearthing what is claimed to be the ancestors of modern man, people need to hear the message of this latest issue. They are being taught that man’s ancestors started here in East Africa millions of years ago while Biblical teaching like the creation of man and the results of the flood are not completely understood. This issue is must reading for people here in Kenya and for our friends back home in the States. I’m greatly anticipating the next issue of Answers.

Praying for Bill Maher
I have received feedback from a number of people about my blog concerning comedian/commentator Bill Maher and his new (vulgar and blasphemous) movie Religulous. Many (like the person I quote below) are praying for Bill Maher:
Regarding your blog about the Bill Maher movie. . . . This verse immediately came to mind: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you FALSELY, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” Mt. 5:10-12 AiG must be doing something extremely pleasing to the Lord to receive so much “attn” from the enemy. . . . I’m glad also that you mentioned praying for Mr. Maher. He is definitely a poster boy for “lostness.” We prayed for him this last Sunday. Wouldn’t it be great for him to give his heart to the Lord? I’m believing for it!
Out of the Mouths of Children . . .
Here is some feedback about the Kids Answers section of Answers magazine:
I wanted to share the impact your Kids Answers magazine ministry is having. My son’s 3rd grade teacher was reading a book about apples. In the book the teacher said “scientists contend that apples have been around about 2 million years.” After she finished reading the book, my son raised his hand and politely told his teacher that the book that she just read had an error in it. Intriguingly, the teacher asked what the error was. My son replied that the world was only about 6,000 years old so apples could not have been around for 2 million years. . . . The boldness of this child equipped by your ministry allowed his classmates to hear Biblical truth. I could only think of Matt 21:16: “Out of the mouth of children, You have ordained Your praise.”
Answers magazine is a creation/worldview magazine for the entire family—with a special Kids Answers lift-out section. You can subscribe through the AiG website.
