Legally Dead
Published November 30th, 2008 in Feedback, Museum Updates, Thoughts and Things
This past week, I read a sermon by the prince of preachers, Charles Haddon Spurgeon—a famous British preacher of the 1800s. It is a phenomenal sermon that explains so eloquently what happened at the fall in Genesis 3—and what the state of every human is as a result of the fall (as a result of sin). I thought on this Sunday, it would be good to start the day with an excerpt from Spurgeon’s sermon to remind us of who we really are and our desperate need of Christ:
THAT MEN BY NATURE ARE DEAD. No being needs to go after ...
Photo Contest Winner
Published November 29th, 2008 in Feedback
Recently, I had a quiz on my blog about where a photograph with me in it was taken.
We had quite a number of responses. The first correct answer came from a man in Wyoming—he will receive free admission to the Creation Museum. Here is an email we received from him after one of our staff called to congratulate him. (By the way, the photo was taken on the Washington D.C. subway, called the Metro.)
Thank you for the phone call. . . . We were ...
AiG Used by God in Salvation Testimony
Published November 28th, 2008 in Around AiG, Feedback
God’s Word states that “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” The Bible also tells us to be “always read to give an answer” (1 Peter 3:15). It always amazes me how the infinite Creator God uses such weak, fallible humans such as ourselves to reach others through our speaking events, books, and other resources to give answers to skeptical questions—but in all we do to bring people the most vital message in the universe: the gospel of Jesus Christ. We give all glory to Him when we hear of salvation testimonies such ...
“Sing to the Lord with Thanksgiving” (Psalm 147:7)
Published November 27th, 2008 in Around AiG, Feedback, Thoughts and Things
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 we read, “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
On this Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., despite the economic woes, personal problems, or whatever circumstances we are in, the Lord wants us to “in everything give thanks.” I know that can be hard for all of us to do—but as Christians, it is something we should commit ourselves to do before our Creator God.
John Gill in his commentary states:
That is, to God the Father, in the name of Christ; see Eph 5:20, thanks are to ...
Ethnically Diverse
Published November 26th, 2008 in Feedback, Museum Updates, My Journeys
This past weekend, I spoke in at Calvary Chapel, Kendall (Miami), Florida, to one of the most ethnically diverse congregations I have ever seen. I think there was every shade of skin “color” from light to dark. It was so thrilling and such a blessing to see people from so many different ethnic groups worshiping and fellowshipping together.
The audience really appreciated my talk on the origin of so called “races” on Sunday night, giving a standing ovation. To me it was so encouraging to see such a group of people respond so positively to this (and every) message. The pastor ...
Website Keeps “Evolving”
Published November 25th, 2008 in Feedback, Ministry Updates, My Journeys
Well, people are noticing the exciting changes on the AiG website as it continues to “evolve.” As one very satisfied person wrote this week:
I LOVE the new Get Answers! I have to say at first I thought I didn’t like it and wanted the old back. But then I decided to take a second look. I spent a little time moving [the] cursor over each category and looking further. WOW!!! What a great job you’ve done. Now I understand what’s behind the new look and how to use it, and it’s truly AWESOME! You just keep getting better ...
Patients Get Witnessing Booklets
Published November 24th, 2008 in Ministry Updates, My Journeys
We’ve heard of several AiG-supportive medical doctors and dentists using their reception areas for a special kind of evangelism. Usually it’s in the form of displaying our Answers magazine in a magazine rack or on a table for guests to read while waiting to see the doctor.
One medical doctor near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has gone one step further—he has dozens of AiG’s witnessing booklets in his lobby for his patients to pick up. The photo here was taken on a cell phone by an AiG staff member who dropped by this doctor's office on Friday while in the area....
Disturbing News from Australia
Published November 22nd, 2008 in Feedback, Museum Updates
Sorry to have to tell you this, but according to a Reuters news report on Yahoo.com , you are more related to Australians than you ever realized—this article claims we are more similar to kangaroos than secular scientists ever thought possible! Now how is that for disturbing news? The report claims:
Australia's kangaroos are genetically similar to humans and may have first evolved in China, Australian researchers said Tuesday. Scientists said they had for the first time mapped the genetic code of the Australian marsupials and found much of it was similar to the genome for humans, the government-backed ...
Sneak Preview of Startling Christmas Program
Published November 21st, 2008 in Around AiG, Museum Updates
AiG staff during their regular staff prayer time were given a sneak preview recently of just some of the actors, costumes, and props to be used in the upcoming live nativity and “The Road to Bethlehem” Christmas program on the grounds of the Creation Museum.

Software Suggests Religion a Product of Evolution
Published November 20th, 2008 in Current Issues in the World, My Journeys
A piece of software, designed by fallible man whose “heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9) and who “suppresses the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18), has made predictions about evolution and religion!
Here is the report from New Scientist:
God may work in mysterious ways, but a simple computer program may explain how religion evolved. By distilling religious belief into a genetic predisposition to pass along unverifiable information, the program predicts that religion will flourish. However, religion only takes hold if non-believers help believers out - perhaps because they are impressed by their devotion. "If a ...
