AFR at Creation Museum
Published January 31st, 2009 in Around AiG, Ministry Updates, Museum Updates, My Journeys
Yesterday Answers in Genesis had the privilege of having the American Family Radio network broadcast live from the Creation Museum portico. A number of AFR personalities (including Marvin Sanders, a VP with the ministry) were involved interviewing various AiG staff. Here is a photo of their “studio” in the portico as AiG’s Dr. Terry Mortenson was being interviewed.
AiG is thrilled with the friendship it has developed with AFR over the years. Our radio program “Answers” is heard on its 200-station network.
You can listen to the program that was broadcast ...
Who Said This and Where Did It Appear?

Who Said This?
Moreover, given the increasing diversity of America’s population, the dangers of sectarianism have never been greater. Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.
Well, the new President of the United States, Barack Obama, stated this in his autobiography, The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream (New York: Crown Publishers, 2006). It is actually a very similar statement to that made by the President in his inaugural address earlier this month.

Others Sharing in the Legacy
Published January 29th, 2009 in Around AiG, Feedback
My brother Stephen (who lives in Australia) and I wrote a book called Genesis of a Legacy: Raising Godly Children in an Ungodly World. This book was really a personal testimony from us as to how our parents (under the spiritual leadership of our father) trained us to stand on the authority of the Word of God, answer the skeptical questions of the age, and defend the Christian faith—and defend the gospel.
AiG staff also produced a parenting curriculum to go along with this book. A few months ago for the second printing, in order to receive an even ...
New Darwin Video Series
Published January 28th, 2009 in Ministry Updates
In early 2008, our leadership and video team met to discuss what we could do for this “Darwin Year,” as secularists plan to celebrate Darwin’s 200th birthday (February 12) and his Origin of Species 150th anniversary.
At first we discussed the possibility of a special documentary—but hundreds of thousands of dollars would be needed to do anything of worthwhile quality (and even then, the secular world often spends much more than that on a documentary for television). Also, we recognized that even if we asked for such funding, often we have seen supporters just re-designate their usual giving, and it ...
A Convicting Challenge
Published January 27th, 2009 in My Journeys
The AiG staff received a very convicting challenge yesterday at a special staff devotion time with speaker and AiG special friend Mark Cahill.
Carl Kerby, one of our speakers, wrote to me about Mark’s ministry of evangelism that has had a great impact on his own life:
Carl, who’d you share your faith with over the weekend?
I’ll never forget being asked that question and the impact it’s had on my life. The man who asked me that question, Mark Cahill, came and encouraged/challenged us at AiG to stay bold in sharing the Lord Jesus Christ ...
All in the Way You Say Things
Published January 26th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Thoughts and Things
In a book review by a writer with the large newspaper The Cleveland Plain Dealer of Jerry Coyne’s new book on evolution we read this statement:
And at the Creation Museum near Cincinnati [about a 4-hour drive from Cleveland], which has drawn more than 630,000 visitors since its 2007 opening, a new exhibit will take on the “inaccuracies” of Charles Darwin’s work.
The secularists very often misrepresent what creationists believe and teach by the way they say things (I think deliberately so in many instances to set up a straw man to make creationists look bad). For instance, take the statement ...
Saved at the Creation Museum
Published January 25th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Museum Updates
It is no secret, and we make no apology about it, that the ultimate purpose of the Creation Museum is evangelistic. We see it as an outreach—a ministry—to uphold the authority of God's Word, equip Christians to defend the faith, answer the skeptical questions of the age, and challenge non-Christians concerning the gospel. It is also a facility to assist parents in training their children in the ways of the Lord.
So it is with great praise and thanks to our Creator when we receive testimonies like this one sent to our entire staff by a Guest Services ...
Does the Gospel Rise or Fall on the Days of Creation?
Published January 24th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Ministry Updates, Thoughts and Things
Recently, in having an obvious dig at the ministry of Answers in Genesis, a person said, “the gospel doesn't rise or fall on the days of creation.” My answer was, “That's true—it doesn’t. But does the gospel rise or fall on the authority of Scripture? And does the authority of Scripture rise or fall on the days of creation?”
The point I want to make is that it is faith in Christ that saves one—not whether a person believes in a young or old earth, or whether the days of creation in Genesis are long periods of time. ...
Protecting Evolution Regardless of the Evidence

The latest creation/evolution battle is happening in Texas. A news report in the New York Times states that:
The latest round in a long-running battle over how evolution should be taught in Texas schools began in earnest Wednesday as the State Board of Education heard impassioned testimony from scientists and social conservatives on revising the science curriculum. . . .
Legislators in six states have considered legislation requiring classrooms to be open to “views about the scientific strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian theory.” The debate here has far-reaching consequences; Texas is one of the nation’s biggest buyers of textbooks, and publishers are ...
Answers Magazine Won Hands Down
Published January 22nd, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Feedback
A mother called one of our customer service reps at Answers in Genesis to renew her Answers magazine subscription. She wanted to let us know that she gave her teenage sons the choice as to which magazine they wanted to renew: Answers or another Christian magazine, since they can only afford one publication this year. They wanted our Answers magazine hands down with an immediate response.
Answers magazine is certainly getting rave reviews! Don’t miss out—subscribe through the AiG website. No matter what country you live in, you can subscribe to Answers—we have a special place on ...
