Genesis in Jerusalem
Published April 30th, 2009 in Ministry Updates
Earlier this week, Carl Kerby concluded a Genesis seminar in Jerusalem, Israel (he spoke about his trip to Israel at this morning’s staff meeting in northern Kentucky). Speaking just two miles from Jerusalem’s walled Old City, Carl shared special messages with our Answers in Genesis tour group of 65 people (and to a few other Christians, including from Norway and Israel); these sessions took place over three evenings.
Along the tour route and before arriving in Jerusalem, Carl also spoke to the AiG group, including a memorable devotional ...
More Name-Calling by Secularists
Published April 29th, 2009 in Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
Several months ago in “celebration” of Darwin’s 200th birthday, the spring issue of the secular magazine Phi Kappa Phi Forum published an article written by our very own Dr. Georgia Purdom and Dr. Jason Lisle. Phi Kappa Phi, as the website states, “is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society.” The mission of the society is “To recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others.”
The editor of the magazine asked Drs. Purdom and Lisle to ...

Creative Supporter
Published April 27th, 2009 in Around AiG, Feedback
One of my good friends and AiG/Creation Museum supporter Dan Wooster has come up with a creative way to get more people to the Creation Museum. It is very possible some of you might like to respond to his challenge and help his burden to bring thousands more to the Creation Museum become a reality.
Dan wrote to me:
Ken, the Lord's been working on my heart each time I take the 13-hours-round-trip journey to bring a handful of folks to see what great things the Lord has raised up @ the museum! Finally my pastor . . . ...
Weddings, Anyone?
Published April 26th, 2009 in Around AiG, Museum Updates, Thoughts and Things
This past week, Guest Services staff worked with a caterer to set up the Main Hall to show people what it would look like for a wedding reception, banquet, etc. We have had many requests for people to rent the Museum facility after hours for such special events. I've included two photographs to show the set up—a beautiful place for such a banquet or wedding reception. Of course, we would also work out ways in which such people could also visit the Creation Museum exhibits and use it as an equipping/witnessing opportunity....
Varying Fixed Terms for Marriages?
Published April 25th, 2009 in Around AiG, Current Issues in the World, Feedback
FROM DOWN UNDER: In an opinion piece written for The Courier-Mail newspaper, Brisbane (our home city in Australia), the writer suggests that because of the high rate of divorce, that varying “fixed-term marriage contracts” be introduced. The very fact that a major newspaper would publish such an article, illustrates how the secularization of the Western world is increasing at an alarming rate. This writer discusses marriage contracts in the same way one discusses contracts for buying a house, etc.
The article is entitled, “Why not get married for a fixed term?” (published on April 24, 2009). The writer states:

History Curriculum Writer Visits AiG
Published April 24th, 2009 in Around AiG, Ministry Updates
Diana Waring, well known in home education circles for her phenomenal history curricula (now published by AiG—go to AiG’s online bookstore for details), visited this week to record the audio elements of the final phase in the History Revealed world history (part 3 of an entire history curriculum) that AiG will soon publish. Part 3 will be essentially from 1800 through the time of the Korean War. It is scheduled for release next year.
She and her husband, Bill, have been staying at AiG staff member (and head of AiG curriculum development) Gary Vaterlaus’s home, as he’s ...
Presuppositional Apologetics
Published April 23rd, 2009 in Around AiG
This week at AiG, we are conducting a special three-part presentation series to the staff on apologetics to help them all understand the philosophy AiG uses in teaching, writing, etc. I opened the series on Tuesday morning to introduce the topic of presuppositional apologetics.
Dr. Jason Lisle gave two presentations Wednesday and today (Thursday). I will put a link to Jason’s presentations on tomorrow’s blog.
You can hear my 45-minute introduction to the staff (which really ...
Operation Space Down Under
Published April 22nd, 2009 in Around AiG, Feedback, Ministry Updates
AiG’s Operation Space VBS program is keeping our customer service and warehouse staff very busy these days—orders are pouring out the door. It was thrilling to receive the following testimony from a dedicated Christian in Australia who is already using this incredible VBS program:
I have been studying and using your Operation Space program . . . and I am lost for words as to how brilliant it is. I cannot believe the scope, the depth and the truths taught in one B.A.S.I.C. program. The parents of the children I am using it on have told me how excited the ...
You Have Greatly Encouraged Me
Published April 21st, 2009 in Feedback, My Journeys
This is a very touching email received this week:
Ken, I am a 44 [year old] man living in . . . Scotland. Attended AIG meetings and had many of my bible errors sorted. . . . I have 4 kids 30 [years] down to 15 [years], so bought every book and video I could. My wife bought How Could a Loving God . . . ? I was given 6 [months] to live in Jan 2008, and the family is now watching me waste away—but Praise God for the worldview we were introduced to by AIG, “You have ...
