More Media Distortions
Published May 31st, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
We are used to it, of course—people whose agenda overrides the truth in their articles--but as a guest column was written for the Atlanta Journal Constitution website (and may appear in today’s print edition) by an author (Shelley Emling is the author of the ‘forthcoming biography of Mary Anning, “The Fossil Hunter: Dinosaurs, Evolution, and the Woman Whose Discoveries Changed the World”’), I thought I should illustrate how such an author just can’t be trusted to write accurate information.
Here are a few excerpts from her article entitled, “Science and religion find common ground,” with my comments:
Ken Ham, whose ...
Creation Museum Website Overhaul
Published May 30th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Ministry Updates, Museum Updates
The Creation Museum website (www.creationmuseum.org) has had a complete overhaul. I encourage you to navigate around the new site and visit it regularly for updated information. As well as a continual stream of new material that will be posted, obviously there will be some fine tuning as the new site is tested. Thanks to Joseph David Advertising and AiG’s web team for this great effort. Very soon you will also see a totally overhauled outreach site (for our speakers, conferences, etc.) and the www.answersingenesis.org website will soon have a new look as ...
Large-brained Apes Graduate from Penn State
Published May 29th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Press Coverage
In a commencement address for the College of Liberal Arts at Penn State University this year, graduates were told they were a “community of large-brained apes.” Now that these graduates understand they are just animals, I trust their university won’t be critical of any of the students if they act accordingly. After all, if we are just animals, and there is no God, then there is no such thing as morality—particularly when the commencement speaker ended with:
You may be just a bud on the tree of life, but you are a bud with attitude and power. Find your ...
Raising the Mastodon
Published May 28th, 2009 in Around AiG
Sometime next month, a new visitor will take up permanent residence in the Main Hall of the Creation Museum—a cast of a large mastodon called the Burning Tree Mastodon. Today I visited the Creation Museum’s workshop to view the progress on the skeleton assembly of this quite enormous beast. The skull and tusks will be placed in position in the next few days.
The skeleton will first be displayed at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention (to help advertise the Creation Museum) coming up in Louisville, which is 90 miles from our museum—and then will be ...
Openly Homosexual Minister Appointed
Published May 27th, 2009 in Around AiG, Current Issues in the World
An Associated Press report on a church appointment in the United Kingdom stated that:
The Church of Scotland has approved the appointment of an openly homosexual minister—the latest case of tensions over sexuality to prompt division in the Anglican Communion. The church’s ruling body voted Saturday by 326 to 267 to support the appointment of the Rev. Scott Rennie, 37, who was previously married to a woman and is now in a relationship with a man.
This certainly illustrates the general state of the Church of Scotland. If their church leaders understood the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God ...
Two Great Milestones in Creation Ministry
Published May 26th, 2009 in Around AiG, Ministry Updates
Tomorrow, two unique publications arrive in our warehouse—resources that, if many people read and act upon them, could change the face of the church in many ways.
1. Already Gone—This book calls for a “revolution” in the church—featuring statistically valid research that will challenge and shock the church.
Here is a copy of our press release concerning this unique publication:
NEW BOOK MAPS OUT PATH FOR LOST GENERATION TO FIND CHURCH: ‘Already Gone’ Delves into Reasons for Young People’s Exodus.
Ken Ham and renowned researcher Britt Beemer take a penetrating look ...
Creation Museum Two Years Old
Published May 25th, 2009 in Museum Updates, Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
Today is Memorial Day in the U.S., and it was Memorial Day 2007 when the Creation Museum opened. Technically, the museum’s birthday is May 28 (this Thursday), which was the date when America celebrated Memorial Day in 2007; but today really feels more like the museum’s birth date.
Our 720,000th visitor will have walked through the museum before the official two-year birthday date this Thursday, so the museum is as popular as ever—attracting guests from across the USA, Canada, and around the world.
I thought it would be good on this memorable day to quote from two ...
Already Gone Has Arrived
Published May 24th, 2009 in Around AiG, Current Issues in the World, Ministry Updates
Yesterday I was thrilled to receive the first copy of Already Gone sent from the binder last night.
[gallery link="file" columns="2"]
As I have stated in other blogs, I believe this is the most important book I have ever participated in. On the back cover is written:
If you look around in your church today, two-thirds of the young people who are sitting among us have already left in their hearts: soon they will be gone for good. This is the alarming conclusion from America’s Research Group led by respected researcher Britt Beemer. The results may ...
The Ultimate Proof of Creation
Published May 23rd, 2009 in Around AiG, Museum Updates
Last night, a printer bound thousand of copies of the new book Already Gone (a shock and challenge to the church), and also bound a new exciting book by Answers in Genesis’s Dr. Jason Lisle called The Ultimate Proof of Creation which refutes logical errors in evolutionist thinking. Both will arrive in our warehouse this Wednesday.
Dr. Lisle (PhD Astrophysics) wrote this about his new book:
Have you ever heard evolutionists say things like this? “Evolution vs. Creationism”, “Why are creationists against science?”, “Nature has designed some amazing animals”, “Creationists ...
Read Her A Is for Adam Until She Died
Published May 22nd, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Feedback
This week I heard a testimony from a couple that I just had to share with you all. I met this family in the Creation Museum during a meet and greet time. They gave me a photograph of their daughter "reading" our Answers magazine. As we talked, they then told me about their eldest daughter who died at nine months old. I asked them to send me an email explaining some of the details that involve Answers magazine and the book A is for Adam. Here is what Richard and Katherine wrote:
Thank you so much for taking ...
