The Hypocrisy of It All
Published June 30th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
Atheist Richard Dawkins, according to the press in the United Kingdom, is helping to subsidize a summer retreat on atheism and evolution for children (such retreats already take place in the USA). The headline for the article in the Mail Online states:
Richard Dawkins Launches Children’s Summer Camp for Atheists
So what is the hypocrisy in regard to this?
After the group of around 70–80 secular paleontologists visited the Creation Museum recently, some comments were made to the press (several media outlets were here that day) concerning the Creation Museum attracting so many children and how terrible this was—that we ...
A Young “Unreachable” Girl Is Reached
Published June 29th, 2009 in Around AiG, Feedback
Over the years, I have received more salvation testimonies from parents concerning their children after reading the book A is for Adam than any other children’s book Answers in Genesis makes available. Many times I’ve heard parents tell me that when they got to the page where the children are asked, “Is your name in the Lamb’s book of Life?” their children have asked to pray to receive Jesus!
There is rejoicing in heaven when this happens—and we rejoice. Each life is a precious soul who is going to live for ever—with God or separated from God....
Who Is Doing the Brainwashing?
Published June 28th, 2009 in Around AiG, Thoughts and Things
An opponent of the Creation Museum made a comment on the web recently that I thought I would share with you:
This person, in commenting on one of our new museum billboards (pictured below), stated:
I hate that the Creation Museum has dinosaurs ripping at their billboards, an obvious ploy to attract more kids to brainwash to Christianity.
One just has to shake one’s head when you see absurd comments like ...
Three-Quarters of a Million Visitors!
Published June 27th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Feedback, Museum Updates
As Aaron and Alicia Roth from Iowa, along with their two-year-old son Elijah (and, to be born next month, their second child) walked through the Creation Museum doors yesterday, they were greeted by museum staff as the 750,000th guests to visit the Creation Museum since its opening. Ministry CCO Mark Looy and I then met them and had our photograph taken with them:
How we praise the Lord for all the people that continue to ...
The Good News and the Bad News
Published June 26th, 2009 in Around AiG, Feedback
The Good News: We believe well over 100,000 people tried to log on last night—on either American Family Radio’s website or AiG’s website—to view our special “The State of the Nation” address.
The Bad News: So many people tried to log on it overwhelmed the technology!
The Good News: Those listening on AFR radio heard the address very clearly.
The Bad News: Thousands of those trying to watch/listen via the web either couldn’t get on or had difficulties viewing. AiG’s hosting service reported our server crashed twice—the problems with technology. Now, for the many people who logged in ...
“They’re Out-Breeding Us”
Published June 25th, 2009 in Around AiG, Feedback, Press Coverage
Yesterday, around 80 paleontologists from across America—who were attending a conference in Cincinnati—visited the Creation Museum. A number of secular media representatives (e.g., Associated Press, local Channel 12, the New York Times, Agence Presse [European news service], the Cincinnati Enquirer) accompanied them. Our staff treated them as graciously as we treat any visitor, and we were pleased to welcome them.
We realized that many of their responses (and quotes in various media) would not be complimentary towards the message of the museum (that the Bible’s history in Genesis is true). But we certainly did hear complimentary comments ...
Dinosaurs and Saddles
Published June 24th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Press Coverage
Those who oppose the Creation Museum, having by and large given up on trying to argue logically and scientifically against the information presented in its exhibits, are resorting more and more to a mocking, scoffing, and a ridiculing approach. It seems their philosophy is this: “If you throw enough mud, some will stick.”
One of the ways these opponents have tried to belittle and ridicule the Creation Museum is by using a children’s item at the museum that is not an exhibit, and taking it out of context and trying to make an issue of something in a way ...
A Raving Answers Magazine Fan
Published June 23rd, 2009 in Around AiG, Feedback
A raving fan of our Answers magazine sent this email to us this week:
1. I just love the focus on a particular theme in each issue. But while focusing on a theme, you maintain a great balance, still having a few articles NOT about the theme. For example, since I don't live in the USA, I didn’t find the Vacation issue quite as relevant as most, but there was still so much to enjoy and learn from it! I still read it cover to cover.
2. Your magazine is of very high quality—topping the glossy professional secular ...
A Professor’s Falsehoods and Poor Research
Published June 22nd, 2009 in Around AiG, Thoughts and Things
I do not write this blog item assuming I can reach a certain professor and change his mind (which would take the work of the Lord)—nor do I write it to attack this man, an associate professor at the University of Minnesota (its Morris campus). Rather, I write this piece in the hope that if even one of his students/associates/blog readers reads it, he or she can then at least check out what I am writing/responding to regarding this professor’s claims . . . and get the truth for themselves so that they won’t be led astray by ...
Presidential Visits
Published June 21st, 2009 in Around AiG, Ministry Updates
No—not the President of the USA! Imagine what the press would say if he ever visited the Creation Museum!!
Three college presidents have toured the Creation Museum in the past four weeks. The most recent one was on Friday—Dr. Robert Imhoff of Mid-Continent University, who came here at the suggestion of his colleague Faris Sahawneh (a computer science instructor at the school; as a former museum visitor, he has become huge museum booster). This Southern Baptist-affiliated school is located in western Kentucky. See www.midcontinent.edu
Also, on Thursday, Dr. Bob and Elaine Kohl of South Dakota visited us with two ...
