Atheists Can Be So Inconsistent
Published November 12th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Thoughts and Things
One of the news items from our local area this week started with the headline:
“Godless” Billboard Going Up in Cincinnati.
The item continued:
“Don’t Believe In God? You are not alone.” [sic] are the words featured on the billboard on Reading Road at 12th Street, one block south of Liberty Street. It was placed there by Cin CoR, the Cincinnati Coalition of Reason.
The group says the display is part of a coordinated statewide campaign that includes similar billboards announced today in Columbus and Cleveland. It’s aimed at raising awareness about people who don’t believe in a god.
First of all, who is ...
Follow-up on Cincinnati Magazine Article
Published November 10th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, My Journeys, Press Coverage
Recently, I gave a summary of the lengthy article that appears in this month’s edition of Cincinnati Magazine about our Creation Museum—and the visit by the 70 paleontologists who toured our museum a few months ago (they were in the area for a fossil conference).
A senior chemical engineer who works for a multi-billion-dollar Fortune 500 company wrote the following to us after he read the magazine article:
First, I am pleased at the length of coverage. Second, I was upset that the magazine attempted to portray the visiting scientists as fair, and it didn’t mention that AiG ...
Who Said This?
Published October 19th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, My Journeys
“My expectation is that when you look back on these years, you will see a time in which we put a stop to discrimination against gays and lesbians—whether in the office or on the battlefield,” Obama told an estimated audience of 3,000. “You will see a time in which we as a nation finally recognize relationships between two men or two women as just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman.”
According a CNSnews.com article from October 13, the President of the United States, Barack Obama, said this when he spoke to a “Human ...
Interracial Marriage?
Published October 18th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, My Journeys
CNN carried a story recently reporting on an incident where supposedly a Justice of the Peace in Louisiana refused a marriage license to a couple reportedly saying that he wouldn’t grant such a license for an “interracial marriage.”
Because I haven’t spoken to the persons involved, and knowing how distorted newspaper reports can be (we are only too used to massive distortions and untruths from the secular media reporting on AiG and the Creation Museum), I can’t verify if the claim in this report is true. Nonetheless , it does give us opportunity to once again discuss the issue of so ...
A Spectacular Creationist Darwin/Galapagos Movie Release
Published October 15th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Feedback
We have just seen the pre-release version of an amazing new feature-length documentary called The Mysterious Islands. While there are several secular and Christian films about Charles Darwin and the Galapagos Islands being released this year, this one really does an excellent job of showing not only the beauty and uniqueness of the remote Galapagos Islands—what many have called both the birthplace of Darwinism and “Darwin’s Eden,” but also presents great teaching in regard to the creation/evolution/Genesis issues.
At AiG, we are always on the lookout for the best resources to provide for people—but it is important that the resource ...
Does the President Agree with Jesus?
Published October 14th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Ministry Updates
You decide! This past Sunday (October 11), CNN reported:
Obama to gay group: ‘Still laws to change, hearts to open’
. . . President Obama delivered a rousing speech Saturday night to the nation’s largest gay rights group, praising the gay community for making strides in equal rights. . . .
Human Rights Campaign issued a statement praising the speech, saying it was a “historic night when we felt the full embrace and commitment of the president of the United States. It’s simply unprecedented.”
The president said he backed the rights of gay couples, saying they should have the “same rights and responsibilities ...
New Darwin-Inspired Clothing Line
Published October 9th, 2009 in Around AiG, Current Issues in the World, My Journeys
We are coming up on the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s On The Origin of Species publication (and February this year was the 200th anniversary of his birth). The Daily Mail website in England is reporting a new fashion line inspired by Darwin’s famous book and teachings. The report states:
These bizarre shoes would be a tall order for any woman to walk in. . . .
The platform shoes were part of a collection inspired by Charles Darwin’s The Origin Of The Species [sic]. . . .
Models with their hair teased into devil-like horns, strutted the catwalk in minidresses decorated ...

Send Students to Calvin College to Be Indoctrinated in Evolution
Published October 5th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, My Journeys
It should be no surprise to anyone who follows the creation/evolution debate that Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been teaching evolution and liberal theology to generations of students. And it is sad to see that it is representative of the Christian colleges across the nation—the exceptions are the rarity, sadly.
The Grand Rapids Press ran a survey of colleges in Michigan recently and stated:
In a recent survey of area colleges and universities, The Press found all of the institutions that teach biology teach Darwinian evolution. Only one, Cornerstone University, questions the theory’s validity and spends significant time ...
Too Controversial?
Published September 20th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World
A new film produced in the United Kingdom on Darwin’s life, called Creation, so far has not been successful in finding a distributor so that it will be shown in American movie theaters. Some are reporting that
Producers of a new film about the life of naturalist Charles Darwin have been unable to secure a company to handle distribution in the United States. According to Oscar-winning director Jeremy Thomas, the theme of the forthcoming movie “Creation” is deemed “too controversial for religious America.”
I was interviewed by the secular media this past week (ABC News) and asked if I thought that it ...
