Educating the Educators
Published July 3rd, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Museum Updates, Thoughts and Things
Answers in Genesis is thrilled once again to have been asked to participate in an outreach to the largest convention of educators in the world, at the NEA (National Education Association) Convention in San Diego this week. Here is a press release AiG has just sent out:
Attendees at this year’s annual meeting of the National Education Association in San Diego this week will be the unlikely recipients of thousands of dollars worth of Bibles and creationist materials, offered by members of the Creation Science Educators Caucus. This caucus endeavors to help public school teachers better understand the massive problems ...
New York Times on Creation Museum Visit by Paleontologists
Published July 1st, 2009 in Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
The New York Times published an article on Tuesday about the visit to the Creation Museum by a group of paleontologists recently. It is interesting reading—and, of course, not surprising at all to see the comments made by these evolutionary scientists. I thought I would quote the first paragraph and comment—and then you can read the entire article at the link below.
The first paragraph of the article entitled “Paleontology and Creationism Meet but Don’t Mesh” states:
Tamaki Sato was confused by the dinosaur exhibit. The placards described the various dinosaurs as originating from different geological periods—the stegosaurus ...
The Hypocrisy of It All
Published June 30th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
Atheist Richard Dawkins, according to the press in the United Kingdom, is helping to subsidize a summer retreat on atheism and evolution for children (such retreats already take place in the USA). The headline for the article in the Mail Online states:
Richard Dawkins Launches Children’s Summer Camp for Atheists
So what is the hypocrisy in regard to this?
After the group of around 70–80 secular paleontologists visited the Creation Museum recently, some comments were made to the press (several media outlets were here that day) concerning the Creation Museum attracting so many children and how terrible this was—that we ...
Who Is Doing the Brainwashing?
Published June 28th, 2009 in Around AiG, Thoughts and Things
An opponent of the Creation Museum made a comment on the web recently that I thought I would share with you:
This person, in commenting on one of our new museum billboards (pictured below), stated:
I hate that the Creation Museum has dinosaurs ripping at their billboards, an obvious ploy to attract more kids to brainwash to Christianity.
One just has to shake one’s head when you see absurd comments like ...
A Professor’s Falsehoods and Poor Research
Published June 22nd, 2009 in Around AiG, Thoughts and Things
I do not write this blog item assuming I can reach a certain professor and change his mind (which would take the work of the Lord)—nor do I write it to attack this man, an associate professor at the University of Minnesota (its Morris campus). Rather, I write this piece in the hope that if even one of his students/associates/blog readers reads it, he or she can then at least check out what I am writing/responding to regarding this professor’s claims . . . and get the truth for themselves so that they won’t be led astray by ...
Findings in Already Gone Attacked by Worldview/Apologetics Organization—by Using Eschatology
Published June 19th, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Thoughts and Things
The head of an Atlanta-area organization (who has attacked our ministry before)–one that promotes (as a big part of its emphasis) a particular view of eschatology—yesterday posted a web article that attacked our new book Already Gone. The reviewer also gave the impression of being open to rejecting young earth creationism in favor of an old earth belief.
We found it strange that in his book review that criticized the book’s findings, the writer did not put Already Gone in the lengthy endnotes, and it seemed to me (and others who read the article) that this person ...
PETA and the Fly
Published June 18th, 2009 in Feedback, Thoughts and Things
I thought you would be interested in (or amused by) the animal rights organization PETA’s position (by one of its senior writers/bloggers) on President Obama killing a fly during a TV interview:
Well, I guess it can’t be said that President Obama wouldn’t hurt a fly. The commander in chief was recently pestered by a fly during an interview. He swatted at the insect and killed the little guy instantly.
Believe it or not, we’ve actually been contacted by multiple media outlets wanting to know PETA’s official response to the executive insect execution.
In a nutshell, our position is this: He isn’t the ...
Why Are the Secularists So Upset and Angry?
Published June 15th, 2009 in Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
A number of secular humanists in America and the UK reacted with anger and frustration yesterday (and the usual vile and emotional language we are accustomed to seeing in regard to Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum).
Why? Well, on Sunday, the front page of the BBC website published an article about the Creation Museum. But why the anger? Because, the writer didn’t use vile language, didn’t seem to belittle the museum, didn’t emotionally attack (though no doubt it is written in a way that will prompt the British to mock anyway)—the author ...
Intolerant Secularists
Published June 14th, 2009 in Museum Updates, Thoughts and Things
Well, the intolerant secularists are at it again. It seems many of them do not believe in freedom of speech or tolerance. They are a small minority of the population, and it seems they have given up trying to argue scientifically, logically, or in a reasoned way. We have observed an increasing trend to attack Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum using vile language, making false accusations, creating false websites, making threats against us, and so on.
Recently, acting quite childishly, they blasted the Creation Museum because we were given the unique opportunity to sponsor a NASCAR ...
More Media Distortions
Published May 31st, 2009 in Current Issues in the World, Press Coverage, Thoughts and Things
We are used to it, of course—people whose agenda overrides the truth in their articles--but as a guest column was written for the Atlanta Journal Constitution website (and may appear in today’s print edition) by an author (Shelley Emling is the author of the ‘forthcoming biography of Mary Anning, “The Fossil Hunter: Dinosaurs, Evolution, and the Woman Whose Discoveries Changed the World”’), I thought I should illustrate how such an author just can’t be trusted to write accurate information.
Here are a few excerpts from her article entitled, “Science and religion find common ground,” with my comments:
Ken Ham, whose ...
