Hi, my name is Carolyn and I am one of four sculptors here at the Creation Museum. I came here two years ago to apply for a job after I heard about the Creation Museum and heard they were looking for artists. My first projects included sculpting several miniature people and animals for the museum scale models, and conceptualizing and sculpting two life-size sculptures of Eve for the “Creation Walk” section of the museum.
I am now working with my fellow sculptors on creating all the animals for the “Adam naming the animals” exhibit. This has been a very interesting and challenging process that has involved a lot of research, since we are trying to artistically represent the original kinds. After receiving a list of photos and details from our staff biologists, we look at several animals within a certain species and try to come up with what the original kind may have looked like. So far we have created a male and female from the goat kind, a pig kind, and are now working on the rhinoceros kind.
Be sure to look for them on the Creation Walk when you come to visit!
