Today we are introducing another Museum Team member, Ted.
The Lord directed my family to AiG from Canby, Oregon, in 1998 and we were greatly blessed before we even arrived by the fact that the only people we knew east of Oregon were my brother & his family who live only a few miles down the road from the AiG headquarters!
Now, eight years later, I can look back and see how God used my background, plus six different and widely varied positions at AiG, to help prepare me for my present job on the museum operations team—Guest Services Manager.
All of us at AiG are depending upon the Lord Jesus to supply the strength, wisdom, and understanding we need to do the work He has given us to do, but the Vice President of Museum Operations, Mike Zovath, recently instituted a brilliant plan to help us focus even more urgently on seeking Gods help—he prominently posted a days remaining before the Creation Museum grand opening calendar right in the middle of our planning conference room!
In the office I have come to meditate more on Proverbs 3:5–7 than any other single Bible passage and it is perfect: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. This directive from the Lord is exactly what I need daily to keep me on track and help me not become overwhelmed with all the details yet to be established.
In college way back in 1971, I had to take a three-hour evening class entitled “General Geology” and I, by Gods design, had Dr. Henry Morris as my professor. He had just founded the Institute for Creation Research and the textbook for the class was The Genesis Flood, which he co-authored with Dr. John Whitcomb. The class was really an “eye-opener” for me even though I was raised in a Christian home—it was my most exciting college class and about the only one I still remember, and it is exactly that sort of “enlightening” we hope to see God achieve in the lives of those who visit the Creation Museum!
One of the best things about being a part of Answers in Genesis is the people that God has already led here and the anticipation of meeting those He is yet to send. We are all brothers and sisters in the blood of Christ and I do truly feel like the staff is my second family.
I hope that you will each take a minute right now and pray for ALL of us and ask the Holy Spirit to remind you daily to pray on our behalf. We do desperately need your prayers and for more specific prayer points please monitor the AiG prayer page.
Thank you very much for your interest and support and we all look forward to your personal visit to the Creation Museum in the Spring of 2007!
