Grand Canyon book under fire

THE FOURTH “C”

I have attached two photographs taken in the CONFUSION (the fourth “C” in the 7 C’s walk through) room at the Creation Museum. This is the room where people will learn about the Tower of Babel, the origin of “races” and so on. I am continually amazed and thrilled at the talent the Lord has brought to AiG and what these talented people accomplish.

“ANIMATED KEN HAM WAS REALLY COOL”

Yesterday I included a link to a piece of animation a supporter did to illustrate one of my podcasts. (If you didn’t see it, then go see http://www.saltygraphics.com/answers.html

One of our blog readers wrote to say:

Hi, just like to say that the animated Ken Ham was really cool. I thought at first it would just be words and then saw the Ken Ham impersonator (cartoon) and then he moved his mouth in time to the words and thought what a great tool for teaching kids of all ages.
I occasionally work with our Sunday school and the material we get has something similar but i have never found it very professional. However, this was first class and i will be getting my children’s opinion when i show them, but i think it’s safe to say they too will think it is pretty cool!

“GRAND CANYON BOOKSTORE STILL SELLING CREATIONIST MYTH”

This was the headline in a news article referring to Tom Vail’s book on the Grand Canyon that has been the subject of quite a controversy. Well, it looks like this battle over the bookstore at the Grand Canyon selling this creationist book is heating up again:

There’s a book for sale at the Grand Canyon National Park claiming that the canyon was a result of Noah’s Flood. According to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER), park superintendent Joe Alston in 2003 lobbied to keep the book, titled Grand Canyon: A Different View, by Tom Vail, out of the park’s bookstores; the National Park Service responded by promising a “high-level policy review” of the matter. PEER claims that three years later, a Freedom of Information Act request shows that the review wasn’t even “requested, let alone conducted or completed.

IS SOMEONE PEEKING AT ANSWERS MAGAZINE?

I thought you’d get a kick out of reading this feedback we received:

Just wanted to drop a note and let you know how much our family is enjoying the new format of the magazine. It is simply wonderful. And it seems that we are not the only ones who think so. Every issue we have received since you started sending it without the plastic packaging has arrived with the seal broken. The magazine is intact and in good condition but I have the sneaking feeling that someone (from the post office, maybe?) has read it before I get it in the mail. Who knows what will happen? Keep up the good work.

ANOTHER CONTRACTOR SAVED!

Just before I left the office on Friday, one of our staff found me and excitedly told me that he led one of our contractors to the Lord! He was just praising the Lord of the opportunities he’s had to present the good news of the gospel to many of the contractors who have worked at AiG. Actually, there have been a few similar testimonies over the past couple of years—outside people who come to do work at AiG, and end up committing their lives to the Lord. As I said to this staff member, just imagine what can happen at the Museum when it opens—I believe we’ll see the Lord save many souls through this ministry.

LAST DAY TO GET 2006 TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION IN

Today (Sunday) is the last day to get your 2006 TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation in to AiG. Please pray about helping us to finish the Museum and boost the general fund as we start the new year. To donate to the Museum/General fund, go to our donation page.

I trust you will have a wonderful New Year’s celebration (We have two such celebrations at our home—one 15 hours ahead of the other—as Australia is fifteen hours ahead of EST in the USA!)

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying
