Because the Lord has blessed AiG/Creation Museum with a professional and very experienced security team, we want to be able to share this blessing with others as we live in this fallen world. To that end, AiG’s Director of Security had a burden to offer to help other faith-based organizations from his own wealth of experience and resources of AiG’s extensive security department. I urge church leaders and other Christian leaders to take advantage of this special offer:
Security for Faith-based Organizations—Are You Ready?
It is unfortunate that over the past month several tragic incidents have once again grabbed the headlines that shows what a violent and fallen world we live in that leaves no area untouched. In a time when we should be celebrating the birth of Christ, we mourn of “innocent” lives taken.
The shootings and senseless killings at a Christian Ministry and Church in Colorado underscore the countless other similar incidents that have invaded shopping malls, theme parks and schools at every grade level from pre-school to university campuses. Churches and other faith-based organizations are no exception and have experienced similar tragedies beyond the past few months.
Answers in Genesis has dedicated itself to provide spiritual guidance and support in a world condemned by sin, however we are also reminded of Proverbs 22:3 that states “A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.” God tells us to plan and be prepared against evil.
Answers in Genesis is now offering the experience of its own security staff in sponsoring a lecture entitled “Security for Faith-based Organizations – Are You Ready?” at the Creation Museum on Tuesday, January 22nd from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.This two-hour seminar, presented by Director of Security, Jeff Hawkins, will provide an overview of the many facets of security, safety, and emergency planning that every organization should have in place – no matter how large or small. Jeff is a senior public safety/security professional with over 27 years of diverse experience, has over 1,000 hours of training in the areas of security, law enforcement and emergency management with such specialty agencies as the FBI, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the Counter Terrorism Unit in Israel. He has served as Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice, has written numerous articles for law enforcement and security publications and is a frequent speaker on the topic of security and public safety across the country.
Whether it’s your place of worship, school, or if you send groups on mission work, this seminar will provide you with the tools to properly plan.
Space is limited, so for information and to register, call (800) 778-3390. I have reprinted below the news release containing more specific details from AiG concerning this item.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying—and please pray for the security staff at AiG—they do a lot of work behind the scenes that many never get to see.
Recent tragic stories in the news of shootings in Christian Ministries and churches only underscore the bigger problem facing faith-based organizations.
Faith-based organizations have traditionally lacked the security measures and emergency preparedness planning that business and other secular groups have put into place thus making them a vulnerable target for thefts, burglaries, assaults and shootings. Aside from the tragic consequences as a result of these incidents, organizations have exposed themselves to liability and lawsuits when someone is hurt or killed as a result of this lack of planning.
This seminar will provide an overview of the many facets of security, safety and emergency planning that every organization should have in place, no matter how large or small. This information applies to place of worship, ministries, schools or groups that send staff or volunteers into the field for mission work.
