Watch #81 in the NASCAR Race

by Ken Ham

A couple of times this week, I've mentioned a new venture that will advertise the Creation Museum to thousands of people—and will even be on national TV. In case you haven't figured it out yet, the museum's logo and branding are being wrapped on the #81 car for the Meijer 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the Kentucky Speedway, located about 45 minutes south of the museum. On Wednesday evening, our publicist issued a press release to announce our partnership with MacDonald Motorsports. Here's an excerpt:

The world-renowned Creation Museum will have its logo prominently featured in an unlikely place this weekend—wrapped around the #81 car at the NASCAR Nationwide Series Meijer 300 Race at the Kentucky Speedway. The museum is a sponsor of the MacDonald Motorsports car driven by Bobby Hamilton, Jr.

“When Randy MacDonald approached us with the idea of participating in the race this weekend, we were delighted to be included. Racing is very popular here in Kentucky, and this is a great opportunity for the Creation Museum to be brought to the attention of a new audience at an incredible venue less than an hour from us,” said museum founder Ken Ham. “We are very happy to be a part of the MacDonald Motorsports team for this weekend and many of our staff will be there cheering them on to victory.”

Be sure to check out the Creation Museum's NASCAR debut on ESPN 2 at 8 PM eastern time tomorrow!

Public Safety at the Museum

This past week saw a very sad act of violence at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Our hearts go out to the family of the guard who was killed, and all of us are thankful that the security guards stopped this from becoming much worse than it was. When such an event occurs, it stimulates those involved with any public facility to reevaluate what is being done for the safety of visitors. Our local channel 5 television station (Cincinnati) came out to interview one of our public safety officers and me at the Creation Museum.

Interview with Creation Museum security

It is sad, but true, that secular humanists have often criticized our visible public safety officers (on their blogs, etc.), mocking us at the Creation Museum for having such visible officers. However, thinking people will realize that we live in a fallen world—an increasingly violent world—where it is important to ensure that people at public facilities know their safety is a priority.

Catastrophe

(Luke 9:42–44) And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

Right in the middle of a catastrophe the Lord Jesus Christ is present to quickly come to our help; our greatest catastrophe was our sins that He died for.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
