New Study on T. rex Soft Tissue

There is a new study on the T. rex soft tissue claim that has been under scrutiny since 2007 (strong evidence, we would claim, to show that dinosaurs did not die over 65 million years ago, but have been around relatively recently). The article states:

A new analysis of the remains of a Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex) that roamed Earth 68 million years ago has confirmed traces of protein from blood and bone, tendons, or cartilage. The findings, scheduled for publication in the Sept. 4 issue of ACS' monthly Journal of Proteome Research, is the latest addition to an ongoing controversy over which biochemical remnants can be detected in the dino.

Museum Pitch

Over the weekend, in addition to tens of thousands of people in our region seeing a “Creation Museum” race car go around the track at almost 200 mph at the Kentucky Speedway, the Creation Museum was the title host for Faith Day at the Cincinnati Reds baseball game. The photos include Dan Mangus throwing out the ceremonial first pitch with Jason Goff catching.

A museum display was set up near the ballpark’s “Fan Zone” area and our museum staff and volunteers passed out witnessing booklets, did some face painting, and invited fans to the Creation Museum (about 20 minutes away)—presenting them with discount coupons. Inside the stadium, the museum was mentioned many times to the 30,000-plus people in attendance (and about half of them stayed for the Christian concert afterwards).

Creation College Participant Speaks at Correction Facility

Here is an exciting email received from one of our participants at the recent Creation College 3:

The Creation College was absolutely time (and energy) well spent for me. I came away so “full” and energized, especially from the geology lectures. I can hardly stand it. I will be able to employ much of it almost immediately when I start my lectures again this fall at the institute (Biblical Anthropology).

I had a really neat opportunity last night. I was asked to speak [at a] correction facility. The response to the creation-worldview message “What Is Truth?” was incredible. In fact, one of the inmates came to me afterwards and said, “I’ve never heard anything like that before. You’ve given me a lot to think about.”

Egypt File Already Receiving Accolades

Last week we sent out a notice about the new AiG Vacation Bible School(VBS) program for 2010—The Egypt File. Here is a response we have received:

It looks like it is great. I love the way AiG teaches truly relevant subjects like the sanctity of life, intelligence of early man, the case for Christ, etc., all in a VBS program! So often the tendency is to assume the kids can’t handle the “meaty” subjects, so we don’t try, but AiG is putting forth the effort to provide colorful age-appropriate and life-preparedness material. Way to go!
