Excited about the “Knee-high” Museum

by Ken Ham

Eleven-year-old Emily recently read our Answers Update newsletter and its special insert about our planned “knee-high” level children’s exhibits in the Creation Museum. (See my previous blog item about the animatronic Noah being installed as one of the exhibits.)

When she read about the matching gift offer from a generous AiG supporter, she was motivated to help raise funds for these exciting new exhibits (the first of which will be installed early next year). Emily decorated a large envelope with a giving thermometer on it showing how much she had raised, and used the newsletter insert about the “knee-high” museum to promote gifts to fund the new exhibits.

Emily raised over $170 for the new exhibits which were thus doubled by the matching gift challenge! She and her mom Rhonda came to the museum this past Tuesday (December 29) and hand-delivered her envelope with the donations to our Director of Advancement, Joe Boone. Here is a photo of Joe Boone with Emily and her Mom, Rhonda:

Thank you, Emily. The Lord will use your gift to be part of a series of exhibits that will reach thousands upon thousands of children with the truth of God’s Word at the Creation Museum.

Our Ministry History and the Past Decade

Sunday on this blog we celebrated 16 years of ministry by looking at the history of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum—and rejoicing in God’s blessings. (See: http://blogs.answersingenesis.org/blogs/ken-ham/2009/12/27/anniversary-today/.) On that same Sunday, our local newspaper, the Cincinnati Enquirer, had a retrospective of the past decade. In its article on the “Top local news events of the decade” in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, the paper posed this question of readers: what was the local “new building that seemed to attract the most national attention? Northern Kentucky’s Creation Museum.” This article, which also appeared in Sunday’s print edition of the Enquirer, can be read at: http://cincinnati.com/blogs/decade/2009/12/08/top-local-news-events-of-the-decade/

Devotion

Gave them power

(Mark 5:6,7,10,12 & 6:7) he ran and worshipped him and cried with a loud voice … I adjure you by God, that you torment me not … And he besought him much … And all the devils besought him … And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

Though the devil and demons have great power, the Lord Jesus Christ has given us more power over them; they are subject to us as we stand in His mighty name.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying
