A Time to Reflect

by Ken Ham

Well, Tuesday, January 22, is the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade pro-abortion court decision in America. It’s certainly not a time to celebrate—but it is a time to reflect on why around 54 million babies have been murdered in their mother’s womb since this shocking anti-God decision by the Supreme Court of the USA in 1973.

You see, when God created Adam and Eve, the first humans, He declared the following:

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)
Our God is a God of life.

And Scripture tells us clearly that life begins from the moment of fertilization (Psalm 139:13–14; Jeremiah 1:5). But what has happened in our culture?

The culture has embraced death. As the total number of abortions since the decision of Roe v. Wade continues to mount (over 54 million murdered unborn babies at last count), we see more and more clearly that we are living in a culture of death. And you know, Scripture warns us about a culture that replaces good with evil:

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)
In this day and age, it seems animals (that are not made in the image of God) have more rights than human beings!

I urge you to read our lead article on the website today, written by staff member Tim Chaffey (AiG-U.S.), reflecting on how abortion (the legalized murdering of children) has affected the nation, and what the church must do to influence the culture and be the salt and light it should be.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken
