“We Are All the Same Inside”

by Ken Ham

For the recent 44th annual San Francisco Pride Celebration & Parade, USA Today reported the following about a hamburger chain:

Burger King has concocted yet another way to have it your way: a gay pride burger.

The Proud Whopper, as it's called, comes wrapped in a rainbow colored wrapper with this inscription: "We are all the same inside."

This burger was sold a Burger King restaurant on San Francisco’s Market Street—this was at the heart of the route for the parade.

As I read this item, I actually agreed with the statement: “We are all the same inside.”

Yes we are:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

There is none righteous, no, not one. (Romans 3:10)

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

Yes—“we are all the same inside,” which is why we all need salvation in Christ. And we all need to judge what we believe against the absolute authority of the Word of God—and when we do that, we find that homosexual behavior is sin—and “gay marriage” is against what God created marriage to be (Matthew 19:4–7).

We all need to recognize that “we are all the same inside”—which is why we all need to ensure we have done the following:

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
