Exciting Happenings at Ark Property!

These are exciting times at AiG. The life-size Noah’s Ark project is moving ahead in leaps and bounds. This past week, the board of directors met at Answers in Genesis. They were given a detailed update on the Ark Encounter project, to be built off I-75 (between Cincinnati and Lexington, Kentucky). Because of the intense construction activity on the Ark site, the board members were taken on a helicopter tour of the Ark property to see the progress.

I have included a video below, as the chairman of the board and his wife accompanied me and our videographer on a fly over in order to view the property and the various construction zones. The first construction area you see on the video is where the parking areas are being constructed. The second major area of construction is the actual site where the life-size Ark will be built, and also the areas around it for the Petting Zoo and other facilities.

Here is a summary of the highlights of the construction progress as given to the board this past week:

1. The excavation of the actual Ark site is complete. There is still grading and other excavation (including the construction of the tram road, upon which people will be shuttled) that will continue at this site for a few more weeks.
2. Most of the storm drain installation on the Ark site has been completed.
3. Foundation work for the construction of the life-size Ark is now underway.
4. At the beginning of November, the construction of the towers that will anchor the Ark (and contain the rest rooms, etc.), will begin.
5. Erection of the timbers for the Ark should begin around early March next year.

There is, of course, much more happening with this very complex project. Despite intense opposition from secularists who did not want to see this evangelistic project proceed, construction is moving ahead and intensifying. Praise the Lord.
