Answers in Genesis: Upholding the Authority of the Bible from the Very First Verse

During our International Training Seminar time last week, each of our special international visitors was asked to give a brief testimony about themselves, and the country they represented. These testimonies are very powerful and a good reminder that the teaching of evolution has permeated the entire world and is a major stumbling block to people listening to the gospel, considering God’s Word, etc.

Our visitor from Albania explained that for about 30 years, the Communist government actually made it illegal to believe in God (I believe this is the only country ever to do this). Once Communism fell and missionaries were allowed into the country, this young man shared that a missionary spoke to him—but he brought up evolution as a major reason to reject the Christian message the missionary was giving him. The missionary used AiG books—one in particular he remembers was my book, The Lie: Evolution. As a result of getting answers to his problems, he (about a year later) became a Christian.

FAMOUS AUSTRALIAN VISITS CREATION MUSEUM

Well—maybe not so famous (but maybe more famous now that his photo is on my blog!)—one of my nephews (Timothy Whincop who resides in Sydney, Australia) spent a few days with our family this past week. I have attached two photographs of Tim and me taken at the Creation Museum—to help make him famous!

SPANKING TO BE OUTLAWED? AS GOES CALIFORNIA, SO GOES . . .

A news item from the HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) needs careful watching. The report stated:

It’s often said that California is a trendsetter. Ideas that begin in California have a habit of making their way across the country. . . . Just when things seemed to be settling down in California, on April 3, Assembly Bill 2943 was introduced by assembly member Sally Lieber. This bill would have the practical effect of making a noninjurious spanking with an object such as a ruler, folded newspaper or small paddle illegal in California. The bill is identical to Assembly Bill 755, which failed to pass the assembly last year. This bill amends Penal Code section 273(a), which makes it a crime to cause unjustifiable pain, harm or injury to any minor child. If the bill passes, spanking with an object such as a stick, rod or switch would be lumped in with throwing, kicking, burning, or cutting a child.

In spite of

(Lev 26:44-45) And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God. But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.

The reason the Lord Jesus Christ does not divorce the Jews is not found in them, but in Him, in spite of their unbelief He told their fathers He is the Lord their God.
