Guess What Is One of Time Magazine’s 50 Authentic American Experiences for 2009?

Well, it is a mocking item, but in Time magazine (online edition), the Creation Museum made their 2009 list of “50 Authentic American Experiences.” As the attraction listed for the state of Kentucky, Time states: Name another country on the planet that has a Creation Museum. It’s almost a contradiction in terms. But there it is in Petersburg, Ky., a sparkling new 70,000-sq.-ft. temple to a particularly narrow interpretation of the Bible: namely, that the world is just 6,000 years old and all creatures have shared the planet with mankind—hence the bizarre display of a triceratops wearing a ...

Churches for Sale

At the beginning of our new book Already Gone (now 50,000 in print), we include photographs of churches in the United Kingdom that have been turned into such things as a nightclub, Sikh Temple, etc. This, sadly, is the picture all across Europe and the United Kingdom as the Christian fabric in those countries has all but collapsed and church attendance is woeful. At the end of the book, I include similar sorts of photographs from the New England states in the USA—yes, sadly, the same sort of thing is happening in America. This week, we saw a ...

Newest Addition to Petting Zoo

Well, it is not alive like the other animals in our Petting Zoo on the Creation Museum grounds—but this exhibit has become a popular “photo spot” for those visiting the Petting Zoo: Making a Difference I often hear feedback as to how the ministry of AiG is making a difference in how people act and what they say. 1. Recently, a group of people traveled to a particular tourist spot in the USA as part of their vacation. They shared with me that the tour ...

A Race Car and a Challenge from Jeremiah

Many things are happening back in the office today and tomorrow while I am in the western part of America for most of this week. One of the more intriguing activities at the Creation Museum will happen Wednesday afternoon, when our museum guests will get a close-up view of an Indy race car (that will compete this Saturday at the Kentucky Speedway). This car will race with the Creation Museum logo on it—just as a NASCAR car did a few weeks ago at the same track....

Greatest Embarrassment to Australia Ever Exported!

On a secular humanist website, there is a review of the book Idiot America (which I referenced in a recent blog post). I would encourage you to read the entire blog item, but I also have pasted an excerpt below: Those who oppose the Creation Museum, having by and large given up on trying to argue logically and scientifically against the information presented in its exhibits, are resorting more and more to a mocking, scoffing, and a ridiculing approach. It seems their philosophy is this: “If you throw enough mud, some will stick.” One of the ways ...

Happy 60th Birthday, Buddy Davis

Even though I had heard of Buddy and Kay Davis and the dinosaurs Buddy had sculpted back in the early 1990s, I first met Buddy Davis 15 years ago as we were beginning the Answers in Genesis ministry. When I saw Buddy’s dinosaurs in his barn (the area they live in is called "Henpeck," Ohio) in September of 1994, I realized the potential they would have for the Creation Museum vision/burden the Lord had placed on my heart. I found out that Buddy and Kay also had a burden to see their dinosaurs used in a Bible-upholding museum to ...

NEA Report

The Christian Examiner reported on the National Education Association (NEA) outreach we had recently at the largest public school educators convention in the world (see my recent blog about this): Members of the NEA Creation Science Educators Caucus distributed up to 1,000 free copies of The Charles Darwin Bible to teachers during the National Education Association’s annual convention. The Bibles were provided by Answers in Genesis, the Kentucky-based ministry that operates the Creation Museum. “To be clear, the NEA Science Educator's Caucus purpose is to reach individual teachers with the creation/gospel message and not necessarily to change the system,” said Tony ...

Today’s Happenings

I thought it would be good to give you a sense (through photographs) of the happenings in the life of the AiG ministry yesterday: 1. Dr. Georgia Purdom speaking about biology at the Creation College Conference 2. Checking out resources in the lobby of the Creation College 3. Mark Looy presenting at Creation College...

An Extraordinary Wednesday

Over 3,200 people visited the Creation Museum yesterday—twice as many on this date during the first year the Creation Museum was opened (2007)! What a busy day—and Wednesdays are usually the low attendance day for the week. On Tuesday we had over 2500—the museum is getting busier as more and more people hear about it. Praise the Lord! In a few days we will hit the 800,000 mark for visitors since opening. Creation College We are thrilled that around 1200 people are attending Creation College (our week-long conference) this week, about 15 minutes from the museum—maxing out the facility ...

Proof of Creation?

This morning at our "Creation College" national conference here in our Cincinnati/N. Kentucky area (by the way, Thursday night's sessions are free and open to the public), Dr. Jason Lisle gave an excellent keynote talk (he gave a version of it to our staff earlier) based on his new book The Ultimate Proof of Creation. That book is one of our best sellers right now. As I wrote recently on this website, I believe Ultimate Proof is one of the most important creationist books to teach people how to think biblically and how to argue logically in the defense ...
