I wanted to share just one more feedback from the Answers for Women conference because I was greatly impacted by what this woman had to say.
I had high expectations because I am well aware of AiG resources and speakers, but my expectations were exceeded.
It was all useful because as a new “staff member” at my church (Director of Elementary Education) I left excited for how the students should be taught to stand on the foundation of God’s Word. He has been laying this on my heart as I’ve served as a Bible study fellowship children’s program supervisor and this conference has furthered my desire for the next generation to stand on the truth of God’s Word.
Also, I am an occupational therapist working with special needs children- and encounter so many moms who ask “why” and think their child’s “disability” is their (mom’s) fault. Stacia McKeever’s portion gave me so much practical info for helping parents of special needs children (and others) see it from God’s perspective- as a comfort and as a witness.
This conference has inspired me (ie. Steve Ham) not just/only to stand on the truth of God’s Word, teach it, train others in it, but was a beautiful reminder and encouragement to me to persevere in my calling as a wife, despite that my husband doesn’t appreciate Scripture.
The presentation in the evening by Geri re: Gomer was a beautiful representation of God’s love. I was reminded of God’s love for me and His desire to “love on me,” which I desperately need at times- being married to an unsaved husband can make one weary without constant encouragement! I realized again, that I need to persevere and obey God, as Hosea’s example shows, even when it is difficult.
Praise God that this woman and others were encouraged and equipped to share the truthfulness and authority of God’s Word with children, husbands, churches, and others! This woman’s feedback encapsulated well what we hoped to accomplish with the conference. If you have suggestions for topics for future women’s conferences as they relate to AiG’s mission of upholding biblical authority, please send your ideas to me on Facebook.
I’m off to Farmington, New York, tomorrow for a conference at Calvary Chapel of Finger Lakes.
Keep fighting the good fight of the faith!
