Flat Stanley visits the Creation Museum

Last week a gentleman walked into the Museum in the afternoon and asked where the best place would be to take a picture showing him visiting the museum with Flat Stanley. Several of our helpful Guest Services staff were more than happy to help and walked with him into the Main Hall of the Museum to grab a couple of pictures.

Museum guest Bowe Hoy writes this about his experience visiting with Flat Stanley: “The request was made by my niece, Whitney Hoy. She is a second grader at Lighthouse Christian School in Gig Harbor, WA. Her class is doing the Flat Stanley project. It involves sending Flat Stanley to a family member or friend and asking that person to take a photo of Flat Stanley at various places that are unique to his / her locality. The photos need to be sent back to Whitney with an explanation of the location and some background information. Whitney will then report back to the class about where Flat Stanley has been based on the photos and information received.

“Whitney sent Flat Stanley to Caleb, my six-year-old son, and my wife, Kimberly, and I have helped him complete the project. The Creation Museum immediately came to our minds as a great place to take Flat Stanley. We have been to the Museum and really support the message and ministry it offers. Additionally, Kimberly homeschools Caleb and have used some AiG materials to help learn about creation.

“I had some business to conduct in the area yesterday and decided to make a trip to the Museum to take the photos. In addition to the Museum, we have taken Flat Stanley to the KFC / Colonel Sanders Museum and Cumberland Falls (Corbin, KY).”

It is always good to have new visitors coming to the museum, even if they are of the two-dimensional variety. Consider the Creation Museum for your group or school’s next field trip or family excursion. And if you are looking for more to do in the area then visit the Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network website- www.CincinnatiUSA.com.
