You Won't Believe This...

by Ken Ham

The "Albuquerque Tribune" (New Mexico) carried a report about a play done for a masters degree project that will shock you, but given the state of the culture, will not surprise you. Here are a couple of quotes from the article followed by a link to the entire article:

The play - which is Simon's final project toward his master's degree in theater at the University of New Mexico - touches on religious, political and sexual hot spots, and includes nudity and adult language. But Simons says it's all done in a funny and fair, but hardly frivolous, way. The play begins in the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve have been replaced by Adam and Steve - along with Jane and Mabel. The two gay couples recreate the biblical story from the creation to "the first brunch" to the Nativity. In the second act, the characters are transported to modern day Manhattan, where they deal with everything from gay parenting to the threat of AIDS.

KASHTANS VISIT AiG

On Friday morning, the Kashtan family from Israel visited AiG and participated in our morning staff devotion/meeting. Eitan shared a captivating message concerning the state of the church in Israel and the phenomenal effect the recent AiG speaking tour had on the church and its young people. I have also enclosed some photos of the Kashtan family:

Liel reading Genesis chapter one in Hebrew Eitan showing the AiG creation article that appears in each issue of their Hebrew magazine (they do this for all three magazines they produce) The Kashtan familiy with the AiG T-Shirts we presented to them: From left to right: Alon; Amir; Orit; Eitan; Ehud; Liel Mall and myself with the Kashtan family Ehud saying John 3:16 in Hebrew

Mally and I will never forget the wonderful two weeks we spent with Eitan, Orit and family. They have become special friends. Please pray for their ministry in Israel, and for the church in Israel.

BACKPACK LETTERS

AiG has begun receiving thank you letters from parents, teachers and students in Mississippi for the backpacks donated by AiG (because of AiG’s supporters) to the thousands of public school students in the Ocean Springs area. Here is a sample:

"As a parent of children in the Ocean Springs School District, I would like to express my deepest thanks to your organization for the backpacks you donated to our children. The backpacks were really needed and will be put to good use! Your thoughtful gift is extremely appreciated."

"I wanted to thank you for the back pack. It was very nice of you to hand them out to people who need them. You’re making a BIG difference in people’s lives by helping in any way that you can and I know that people are very grateful for your kindness. My family and I are very grateful for your help. My house took some damage of its own. We lost our chimney and our fence. Our house flooded 6-7 inches and we also lost our freezer, dishwasher, carpet, and some other things. Again, I want to thank you so much for the back pack and school supplies. Even the little things make a big difference in people’s lives. Thank you so much for your help."

"I just want to write and thank everyone from this group/organization for all their help to the hurricane victims down here. I know a lot of people lost their homes or were displaced like myself. The donation of school supplies is greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless."

"I am a survivor of Katrina. I started school today and I wanted to let you know that your donations of school supplies have made the transition back to school a lot easier. A lot of us lost all we had, including our school supplies and the thought of having to buy it all again brought on a lot of dread. Now all of us are prepared to get back into our normal routines. We couldn’t have done it without you and I appreciate all you’ve done for us. I’m a senior and I’m ready to get back to work so I can graduate. Thank you so much for your donations and your kind hearts. A Heartfelt Thanks"

“Thank you so much for the backpack and supplies; it really means a lot to me. I am glad that you were thinking about us. It is truly the best backpack that I have had. My Dad is in the Navy and out to sea and my mom doesn’t work so we get our backpacks from the thrift store. Thank you again for the supplies, 8th grader”

MORE MEDIA

These days I seem to spend a lot of my time talking to media. Today I was interviewed by a reporter for Christianity Today. On Sunday, a New York television crew will be at the office to interview me for 2 hours for a documentary they are doing called "The Believers." On Monday, CBS will be at the office to interview myself and others.

On Saturday, we have a couple of groups visiting the Museum for a tour, including two van loads of personnel from Bob Jones University Press and Bob Jones University. On Monday we have a number of guests arriving at AiG for various reasons (including Darrow Miller from "Food For The Hungry") and the AiG-USA board will be coming in for our board meeting Tuesday through Thursday.

We have a very busy week ahead of us.

Thanks for praying

Ken
