A Father’s Notes on Genesis

by Ken Ham

One of the smallest, yet one of the most powerful exhibits in the Creation Museum is in the wall of the Chapel. It is a display containing my father’s Bible and other items honoring the Godly training of my Mum and Dad. In reality, I see the AiG ministry as their legacy. chapel-window-6-11-07-240.jpg Many times I have seen people standing in front of this exhibit, some with tears. I have had a lot of feedback from these people similar to the person who said, “this really spoke to me in regard to what legacy I’m leaving my children.”

Last year, one of the visitors to the Creation Museum was Pastor Mark Martin, of Calvary Community Church in Phoenix (a church of over 10,000 strong). I have spoken there a few times, and Carl Kerby and Dr. Andrew Snelling are scheduled to speak there May 4th and 5th this year.

bible.jpgPastor Martin produces a daily email devotional that goes out to thousands. He has received responses from all over the world. After visiting the Creation Museum and seeing my father’s Bible, Pastor Martin wrote a devotional using the words my father had written. Here is the devotional:

Today's Scripture -------------------- “I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.” Psalm 119:15-16

Let me share with you three simple handwritten statements found on the first page of Genesis in Mervyn Ham’s Bible, on display at Answers in Genesis Creation Museum (www.creationmuseum.org).

Believe its statements Obey its commands Claim all its promises

Let’s find the joy and wisdom in living our lives this way.

An interesting observation I’ve made over the years is that a person with a worn out Bible usually isn’t.

Today’s Psalm -------------------- Psalm 93, verse 2, “Your throne, O Lord, has stood from time immemorial. You yourself are from the everlasting past.”

Today’s Proverb -------------------- Proverbs 3, verses 33-34, “The Lord curses the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the upright. The Lord mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble.”

Have a great day!

Pastor Mark

I praise the Lord for how my parents’ legacy continues to reach lives around the world with the truth of God’s Word.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying

Ken
