Make a Difference—Volunteer at the Creation Museum and AiG!

It’s a bit surprising when people sometimes ask if there’s still a need for volunteers at the Creation Museum. Well, YES! Most people familiar with the remarkable history of the building of this beautiful, God-honoring center know that volunteers have played a vital role in making it a reality.

The Creation Museum has ministered to over 300,000 visitors since it opened in late May, and even today it continues to make headlines around the world. Volunteers will always be critical to the outreaches of Answers in Genesis (think of all the people we need to have as volunteers at our major conferences held around the U.S. and those we do abroad) and, of course, right here at the Creation Museum. Opportunities exist for volunteers in nearly all areas of the ministry. There are “front line” museum assignments, as well as “behind the scenes” roles in the office, warehouse, on the grounds, and elsewhere.

During the past Christmas season, we “went live” with an exciting new volunteer system. It is user-friendly, convenient, and offers flexibility. You don’t necessarily have to live near our Cincinnati area to be a volunteer (e.g., to assist in organizing an AiG seminar in your area, to help place our radio program on your local radio station, etc.), but most opportunities, of course, are right here inside the museum and AiG.

SPECIAL EVENT: “THE STORY OF GOMER”

In celebration of God’s love, the Creation Museum invites you to “An Evening to Remember” on Friday, February 15, 2008, at 7 p.m. This unforgettable evening is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Guests can expect an elegant evening of beautiful music, a souvenir photograph, and a dramatic presentation of God’s redeeming love. After the presentation, guests will enjoy a delicious dessert in our beautifully decorated Main Hall. You may also choose to order an optional dinner, featuring prime rib or ossobuco (veal), to be served at 6:00 p.m. before the theater program.

“The Story of Gomer” is a love story, taken from the Old Testament book of Hosea. You’ll be blessed by the persistent, redemptive love of Hosea for his wayward wife, Gomer. Even more, you will be touched by this portrait of the persistent, redeeming love of our heavenly Father for His wayward children.

MORE ‘PRO-CREATIONISTS’ AT AiG

The newest addition to Creation Museum employees Perry and Stephanie’s family, a son, arrived on January 9th! Kaius Aden weighed in at 7 lbs, 2.2 oz. and 20” long. Reece (now 4) and Anna (3) are happy to have a baby brother. You may wonder about the name—Kaius (pronounced “KIE-us”) is a Latin name meaning “rejoice.” See the picture below.

Perry (Outreach) also announced the birth of Janis Jan at about 3:40 Thursday afternoon! She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and mom (Melanie) and baby are fine.

I really enjoyed this issue of Answers. As an undergrad physics major with an interest in astronomy I thought that the issue, loaded with astronomy from a biblical perspective, was very cool. I really liked the insight that “What Went Wrong at NASA” gave into NASA and its decline. And I have never thought about how much of our world is in sets of threes like the article “Spacetime” showed. That is rather neat when one thinks about it. I was thrilled when I saw “Astronomical Events.” Could you put that in the January issue every year? In short, I really enjoyed the Astronomy issue, and I appreciate you guys doing it.
