Until We Meet Again

by Ken Ham

Long-time AiG supporter Terri Day of Virginia went home to be with the Lord this past Friday evening. Terri and her husband Ray went on the Down Under Tour of Australia with us, and they have personally brought many groups to the Creation Museum. Several months ago, they drove 10 hours from their home in Virginia just to bring to the museum an elderly couple whom they loved dearly. They knew this couple wanted to see the museum but could not physically make the trip themselves; so, they sacrificed their time to bring them here personally.

Cecil and Vicki Eggert of our staff stayed in their home last fall and have visited with them frequently this spring during their visits to the museum. Terri was signed up to travel with us to Israel in the spring, but the Lord has allowed her to see Israel from heaven. Please pray for Ray and their adult children. Ray and Terri are also highly active in the Gideons, and Terri was the women’s chaplain for the state of Virginia. We will miss her.

Ultimate Motive

At times I have been asked by secular media, “What is your ultimate motive in forming a ministry like Answers in Genesis and building the Creation Museum?” My answer is “to stand on the authority of the Word of God, proclaim the gospel, to see people saved and be in Heaven with us!” And here is an example that illustrates just that—from an avid AiG supporter:

It is no secret that many of us were concerned as to whether you would be able to fulfill your commitment to speak at First Baptist Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago after having just returned from India with a severe virus. God answered prayers for your strength, and you were able to speak at all five services during the two day event.
I have just heard from David Ramseur, a supporter from Jacksonville. He told me that this past Sunday, three people were baptized and said they were saved as a result of your messages. One young lady said she was saved after reading one of the AiG books. I just wanted to share this encouraging news with you.
Six Long Years

Another supporter wrote:

. . . it took me nearly six years to do it, but I finally convinced my pastor to show Ken Ham’s 12-week Answers video series on Wednesday nights, which we just finished last week, and he loved it. I am hoping to convince him to host an AiG conference in the near future. . . .
I’m sure this supporter would rather it had taken six days than six years! However, a good lesson to all of us to be persistent and trust the Lord.

Number of Countries

As of 9/1/08, we have received e-mails from 111 different countries. The new ones for August 2008 are as follows: Botswana, Central African Republic, Shetland Islands (technically not a separate country, but we’re going to count it anyway!), and Slovenia.

Devotion

Trouble

(2 Samuel 2:1, 8–9)  And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron…But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim; And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

Trouble in the course of following God’s direction is not an indication that we are wrong.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken
