Famous Old Testament Character “Visits” AiG

Each work day our staff starts off the morning with prayer—and often some devotional time. Twice a week we usually feature a speaker, such as a local pastor or even a staff member who shares something about how God is blessing the ministry—and they address the whole staff.

On Wednesday, museum charter member—and one of our museum’s advertising consultants—Mark Tilghman presented something quite unusual for us all. He performed a one-man show (with his wife, Suzanne, providing some beautiful solo interludes—unseen from the back of the room) on the life of Job. It’s an adaptation of John Piper’s book The Misery of Job, The Mercy of God. Mark used this drama—performed right on the stage of our museum's theater—to remind our staff how the book of Job in the Old Testament is so much more than about Job’s suffering, but is really a testimony to God’s sovereignty and mercy. I actually saw some of the staff dab their eyes with tissues because they were so moved by Mark’s superb presentation.

Mark is the president of Joseph David Advertising, the organization responsible for creating our award-winning TV commercial that promote the Creation Museum (plus billboards and other media). We also appreciate Mark as a friend who shares our passion for proclaiming the creation/gospel message.

   

It is about 50 minutes long—but well worth listening to with a sort of surprise way of ending it. If you want to get a summary of the book of Job that will really touch your heart, challenge, and convict you, I encourage you to put aside the time and sit down and listen to this with your family.
