Film Award Given to AiG

I was thrilled by a message I received from Dale Mason, one of our VPs, who flew to San Antonio, Texas, to attend a unique film festival–and where the AiG film Noah’s Ark: Thinking Outside the Box was shown. I’m thankful to report that this documentary on Noah’s Flood took the top honor in the “Best Creation” film category (out of many entries). It features the research of engineer Tim Lovett, and it applies Tim’s recent research on the contours of the Ark—while maintaining a commitment to the Bible. Dr. John Whitcomb, co-author of the creationist classic The Genesis Flood, is also in the film.

At the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, where hundreds of different films were showcased, Dale told festival organizers:

On behalf of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum, we are so very thankful for the vote of confidence that this Jubilee Award represents. Even more than that, we are humbled to be part of what God is doing to propagate the truth of creation.

Cult Witnessing

The Answers in Genesis website provides visitors a great variety of Bible-upholding articles, including for supporters who share their faith with those of other faiths. Here’s a recent testimony:

I took your article on Jehovah’s Witnesses over to the local Kingdom Hall today. The Jehovah’s Witnesses said that they wanted to talk with me and have an open discussion. Wow, the cult mindset is really something else. They refused to read the article. Instead the guy that I handed it to flipped through it for about three seconds and wrote it off as being a deceptive article. He had an especially big problem with the use of the word “a” in the title—he insisted that there is no such thing as “a Jehovah's Witness” but that “each person is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.” Obviously this is baseless nonsense on his part, and at best is hair splitting on his part. “A” means the same thing as “one of” anyway.

Of course, even though there was an absolute refusal to read through anything that contradicts their beliefs (though there was lip service to learning different viewpoints), they often would answer questions that I had with “Here is some literature; read this.” Now, I am all for exchanging literature, but I definitely pointed out the double-standard to these men of having me read their literature (and I will) but having an utter refusal to look through even one article that I brought with me to them. After all, Bible believers are supposed to do unto others as they would have others do unto them. I definitely knew that the deck was being stacked, and I am not sure if they knew that, or if they seriously lacked the ability to recognize their own double standard.

Even though the Scripture about throwing pearls before swine came up to my mind, I did bring up some of the points that I saw mentioned in that article. I do not think that the “JWs” have ever come across someone who pointed out to them that Jesus was worshipped as God (e.g., John 19).

Your ministry has been greatly helpful today, and not just in ministering to other people with apologetics, but the people at Answers in Genesis have been a good example to me of Christian conduct and in learning how to be a good Christian (not to mention helping me to surrender to God, and find salvation several years back). I strongly believe that just as the industry of science pushes civilization forward, ministries such as yours are what is going to push Christianity forward in the decades (and maybe centuries) to come, before Christ's return.

(1 Chronicles 29:5) The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?

The Lord Jesus Christ does not force against a person’s will, but presents the truth and looks for the beauty of that wholehearted decision of a yes to Him.
