A Staff that Prays

I wanted to share two photographs with you that really helps show the heart of AiG’s staff:

Not only do staff gather each morning for announcements (and sometimes hear special speakers), but they gather to pray. How thankful I am for such dedicated staff who not only pray for AiG and its mission and needs, but also for our whole AiG family—our friends and supporters. We do receive prayer requests daily, and staff (and special prayer partners) receive an email with prayer needs outlined. We also have a special prayer website, where we encourage people to become prayer partners. If you have never signed up to be a prayer partner (keep in mind that we start fresh every year), I urge you to go to the special prayer website and consider doing this.

Repair the Breach

You may recall that I spoke at the Sunday a.m. services of a church in Richmond, Virginia, recently, and the second service was televised live on cable and on the NRB TV channel on DirecTV. While I was out in the foyer after the service, a lady who had been watching the service on television drove to the church to hand me a donation check and a thank you card, as she was so blessed by the message she heard. In the thank you note, she stated:

May the Master of the Breakthrough continue to fuel your fire, put wind in your sails and oil into your hands to complete the work He Has Begun. GOD BLESS YOU. Thank you Brother Ken for being a ‘repairer of the breach’, a modern day Nehemiah, a steadfast Daniel. God used your gift to show us the Bridge of CHRIST in this area. I appreciate you and Mrs. Ham.

The “repairer of the breach” quote is based upon one of my favorite verses of Scripture that, to me, does sum up a vital aspect of the AiG mission—Isaiah 58:12:

Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

As we know, a breach has occurred in the foundation of this nation—and the breach needs to be repaired!

Devotion

Frustration and relief (Genesis 17:18) And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

We are frustrated when we hold on to our failures, asking God to adopt them as His will; relief comes when we surrender our will to God’s will.
