Gay “Marriage”—Tragic for America’s Children

by Ken Ham

Many gay “marriage” activists argue that “married” gay couples are just as suitable parents as married heterosexual couples, that there is no difference between the two. Well, the president of the American College of Pediatricians, “a nonprofit organization of pediatricians and health care professionals dedicated to the health and well-being of children,” said in a statement on their website that the SCOTUS decision to legalize gay “marriage”

is a tragic day for America’s children. The SCOTUS has just undermined the single greatest pro-child institution in the history of mankind: the natural family. Just as it did in the joint Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions, the SCOTUS has elevated and enshrined the wants of adults over the needs of children.

And we would add, SCOTUS has elevated and enshrined the sinful wants of adults over the needs of children.

Reportedly the College filed an amicus brief during the SCOTUS case which stated, “Despite being certified by almost all major social science scholar associations—indeed, in part because of this—the alleged scientific consensus that having two parents of the same sex is innocuous for child well-being is almost wholly without basis.” Apparently the brief also said that “the ‘alleged consensus’ that the children of same-sex couples do not suffer any disadvantage is the result of ‘intense politicization of research agendas’—not of objective science.”

Well, despite what many gay “marriage” activists say, having two mummies or two daddies does not replace God’s design of one mum and one dad. God designed marriage—for one man and one woman—from the very beginning and blessed this union and said, “Be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28). This is God’s design for the family! And since God is the all-wise, all-knowing Creator, what He designed is obviously the only true way for us, not what sinful, fallible human beings try to make. Of course, no family is perfect—we live in a fallen world that is groaning from sin—but we are not at liberty to change the design for marriage and family that was given to us by our Creator. When we do, disaster is around the corner.

I encourage you to be bold in standing on God’s Word and refusing to compromise with man’s ideas about what a marriage or a family should look like. We need to unashamedly uphold the design given to us by our Creator.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
