More of President Obama’s Legacy

Well, nearly six months after a national referendum in Ireland that legalized gay “marriage,” the first Irish marriages have now been celebrated.

As I wrote back in May, this national decision to legalize same-sex “marriage” reflects a continued secularization of the Western world, and it breaks my heart to see people rejecting Jesus Christ and His Word. Our culture is increasingly turning away from any resemblance of a biblical worldview and is instead simply doing what’s right in its own eyes (Judges 21:25). And once you reject the biblical worldview, why shouldn’t marriage just be whatever you want it to be? Without an absolute foundation for morality, who’s to say what’s right and wrong? Sadly, since our culture has rejected God’s Word as our authority, morality has quickly become just this—whatever they think is right.

The only solution to this decline is the gospel of Jesus Christ. And this news is just another reminder that it’s the gospel that changes hearts and minds for now and for eternity. As Christians, we need to be bold in standing firmly on God’s Word from the very beginning and sharing the gospel with others.
