Secular Intolerance Against Christian Fixer Upper TV Stars

A recent BuzzFeed article highlights secularist intolerance against Christians. The article focuses on HGTV Fixer Upper television stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines, who attend a church that takes a biblical stand on marriage—which is one man for one woman. The article asks,

So are the Gaineses against same-sex marriage? And would they ever feature a same-sex couple on the show[?] . . . . In the absence of a response from them or their representatives, it’s worth looking at the severe, unmoving position [their pastor and church] take on same-sex marriage.

So without even knowing this couple’s view on marriage, this reporter takes a nonstory and makes a big issue out of it. It’s nothing more than a secularist “witch hunt” against those who may not agree with them.

Buzz Feed plainly shows intolerance of those who believe in biblical marriage by this attack. LGBT activists usually don't just want freedom for their view but aggressively try to impose their view on others. They're often intolerant and prejudiced against Christianity—they need to learn tolerance.

It’s also important to understand that when a Christian takes a stand on biblical marriage and teaches against gay “marriage,” that doesn’t mean the Christian is “anti” the person who is gay. But those who disagree with what the Bible teaches usually become very “anti” the person who holds to biblical truth.

From a perspective of understanding the sin nature of man, the following verse should not surprise Christians: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9).

Only in Christ is a person able to be a new person (2 Corinthians 5:17).

As believers, we need to stand firmly on what God’s Word says about marriage, even in the face of opposition.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
