“See and Feel the Reality” of the Ark Encounter

Since we opened the Ark Encounter in Northern Kentucky on July 7, guests from all over the United States and from across the world have told us how it brought the account of Noah and the Flood to life for them.

One guest shared a summary of her experience with us:

I recently visited the Ark Encounter with my family. I have been a believer in Christ and was brought up in church from birth. Stories of the Ark were always fascinating but hard to conceive, given the enormity of Noah's mission. Seeing the Ark Encounter was a gift in visual form. As I walked through the levels and saw the cages as they might have been, and read the explanations of creation and science, I could see and feel the reality of it all. It was incredible to see how God worked in the life of Noah to bring His will into being. Scoffers will scoff . . . but believers will be blessed!!

Our hope and prayer is that the teaching and themed exhibits and the Ark itself will stand as a reminder of the truth of God’s Word. As people learn about the reality of the Ark and the Flood in real history (as seen by evidences such as the fossil record), we pray they will be challenged to stand on the authority of God’s Word from the very beginning and to boldly proclaim the gospel to a lost world.

The Ark—Vital for Our Times

I think the Ark—a massive testament to the truth of God’s Word—is vital in our day and age. We live in a time when God’s Word is being questioned, scoffed at, and disregarded. Instead of basing their thinking on God’s Word, our culture chooses to do whatever is right in their own eyes. Here’s an example.

Rejecting God’s Standard on Gender

According to reports, the Oxford University students’ union says that, to be politically correct, students are encouraged to use gender-neutral pronouns like “ze” and not “he” or “she.” Apparently the students hope “that the use of ‘ze’ will continue into university lectures and seminars.”

This might be politically correct, but biblically correct is “he” and “she.” Both the Bible and biology make it clear there’s male and female. God made humans male and female; man from dust and woman from his side:

She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man (Genesis 2:23).

No Religion But Their Own

Our secular culture isn’t content with just ignoring or even mocking the Bible. They want to rid Western culture of any vestiges of Christianity in the public sphere. But by getting rid of Christianity they aren’t replacing it with something neutral—there is no neutrality (Matthew 12:30)! They are replacing Christianity with their religion of atheism and humanism.

Here’s an example of this. In a small Indiana town, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is suing to have a lighted Cross removed from the top of a tree in the town square. Apparently one resident complained it caused him “irreparable harm,” and he is “forced to come into direct and unwelcome contact with the cross as he drives through the town.”

Christians also pay taxes and many are offended at the removal of the Cross! Taking down the Cross doesn’t somehow make the square neutral. It imposes the religion of humanism!

Or what about a staff member at a middle school in Texas who decorated a door with a picture of Linus, a character from Charlie Brown, and his well-known quotation “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord. . . . That’s what Christmas is about, Charlie Brown”? She was forced by the principle to remove the Bible passage even though it’s part of the famous movie. Why? Because it’s a Christian message.

And it’s not just Christianity, either. Secularists really want to get rid of every religion except their own. Recently Freedom From Religion Foundation complained that students from a public school choir would be singing at a Mormon church that featured dozens of Nativity scenes. Because of their complaint, the annual event was cancelled. These children couldn’t even sing Christmas carols without the FFRF getting up in arms.

The FFRF, and others like them, continue their threats and intimidation as part of their agenda to have the State impose their anti-God religion on the culture. They want freedom from Christianity and other religions, not freedom of religion. They don’t want diversity! They want their religion imposed as the State religion. This is happening in public schools across America—the anti-God religion of naturalism is being imposed on millions of school kids every day.

As the war on Christianity and religion continues by those like FFRF, Christians need to contend for the faith (Jude 3) and defend the freedom of religion for all in this nation.

A Necessary Reminder

I encourage you to come and visit the Ark Encounter with your family. The life-size Noah’s Ark stands as a testament to the truth of God’s Word. We need this reminder in a day when God’s Word is ignored, mocked, and replaced with humanism.

Plan your visit at ArkEncounter.com. And don’t miss the Ark Encounter’s sister attraction, the Creation Museum, near the Cincinnati Airport.

By the way, here is an update on the Ark as reported by the Grant County News (the Ark is located in Grant County).

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
