Go Behind the Scenes in The Building of the Ark Encounter

Building the full-size Noah’s Ark at the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky, was no small feat. South of Cincinnati, it’s the largest timber-frame structure in the world,* designed as a ship but built as a building for tourists to walk through, filled with three decks of world-class exhibits, and built according to modern building codes. How did all of this come together to become the spectacular themed attraction that has fascinated hundreds of thousands of guests from around the world in just a few months since it opened July 7?

Well, now you can experience the excitement and wonder of the Ark’s construction in a book and DVD set, The Building of the Ark Encounter. The book features pages of beautiful, full-color photographs and amazing construction details.

The DVD documentary gives the incredible backstory behind the project—going all the way back to 2004—and includes behind-the-scenes interviews from AiG cofounders Mark Looy, Mike Zovath, and me; lead exhibit designer Patrick Marsh; and lead construction engineer LeRoy Troyer. The DVD also features beautiful fly-over footage, time-lapse video of the construction, a construction visit by former US President Jimmy Carter, and much more.

If you want to learn more about why and how we built the full-size Noah’s Ark, I encourage you to check out The Building of the Ark Encounter, available at our online store.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
