I’m thrilled for my friend Pastor Ronnie Floyd of Cross Church who recently accepted the position as president of the National Day of Prayer. This is quite the honor, and I know he will do a great job leading this important vision for our nation, even as he continues to lead as senior pastor of Cross Church.

Ronnie Floyd

Dr. Floyd invited me to speak at his church, in Northwest Arkansas, this past March. I spoke on the relevance and historicity of Genesis, encouraging Christians to stand on the authority of God’s Word and raise up generations who will believe and boldly defend it. You can watch a recording of that message on my Facebook page. Shortly after I presented at Cross Church, Dr. Floyd preached a sermon series on Genesis using various Answers in Genesis’ materials. It’s great to see a pastor take a firm stand on Genesis and encourage and equip his congregation to do the same!

Dr. Floyd has also hosted me on his podcast, Life and Leadership Today, and recently interviewed me on the Washington Watch with Tony Perkins radio show. I’m thankful for our partnership and look forward to working together in the future.

The National Day of Prayer is such an important day for our nation. Millions of Christians unite each year on the first Thursday of May to pray for our leaders and our nation. We need prayer more than ever as religious freedom and freedom of speech are increasingly attacked, so-called racial tensions are rising, and our government is very divided. Mark May 3, 2018, on your calendars and join with millions across the nation in lifting America before the Lord, as we should do every day.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (1 Timothy 2:1–2)

I encourage you to read Dr. Floyd’s blog about his new position on his website here and here.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
