Can You Study Science as a Creationist?

Dr. Jeanson is a research scientist here at Answers in Genesis and the author of the very popular book Replacing Darwin that deals in detail with natural selection, speciation, and adaptation, clearly illustrating that they do not support evolution but confirm the creation account in Genesis. In his recent interview, he was asked if he would encourage young people who are interested in science to pursue a career in the field. He answered:

Oh, absolutely. There is still so much we don’t know about the world. Scripture is the absolute truth. It provides very explicit statements about the natural world. There are things in which Scripture is very clear. It is clear that the origin of the universe and the first creatures were by divine creation, not natural selection. But there are also all sorts of open questions. And what’s exciting is you discover new answers along the way that you never anticipated.

Creation science is such an exciting field. Many people have this idea that creationists don’t do research, but that’s not true. Many creation scientists are actively involved in exciting discoveries regarding the world around us. See, for example, Dr. Stuart Burgess and his work on an award-winning bicycle design. And we need more scientists who will study creation and make discoveries from the right foundation—the foundation of the authority and truth of the Word of God.
