What is the answer for our hurting friends, family, and colleagues? The only ultimate answer is the eternal hope, peace, and joy that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ and believing the Word of God. There’s no other answer! Our world is broken and cursed—there will always be massive issues and problems. It’s been that way since sin first entered creation and ruined God’s “very good” world. Temporal solutions might help for a moment, but ultimately they will fail because our real problem is a spiritual one—the sin that separates us from a holy God. The only ultimate solution to this sin problem, and the other problems that come from it, is the gospel of Jesus Christ!

We need to be pointing people to God’s Word and gospel as their hope. But often when we direct people to God’s Word, we’re met with resistance—after all, in our secular day and age, people have been conditioned to believe that the Bible isn’t true. That’s why we need to be equipped with answers for the questions of our day! So that we can show the Bible can be trusted, and therefore the message of the gospel can also be trusted.
