Virtual Reality Experience Now Open at the Ark Encounter

State-of-the-art, commercial-grade virtual reality headsets work together with special-effects motion seats that move, vibrate, and interact with guests as they travel back in time 4,350 years to see Noah and his crew as they build the ark and load the animals. Ride along in the ark (and yes, it actually feels like you are moving) as the flood dramatically begins and take in the stunning rainbow at the end of the year-long flood. This special experience requires a paid ticket, separate from general admission.

The new VR building, located a short walk from the Ark ship itself, hosts 12 separate bays, which hold 4 seats each. Each seat is a custom-made MX4D Motion EFX Experience seat (manufactured in California). These seats aren’t just your average chair—they add wind blasts, full motion, and even scents (yes, scents!) that coordinate with what is seen through the VR headset—you’ll really feel like you’re flying as you journey back in time with “P.O.D,” a lively robot guide!

A Flood of Reality is a fully immersive experience with the quality you’d expect at Disney World or Universal Studios, but with a very different message—one centered on the truth of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is powerfully presented at the end of the production by a holographic Australian you just may recognize!

Recently my wife, Mally, and I were test subjects for A Flood of Reality. I can confirm it's a totally immersive experience, and with the high-tech seats, you actually do have the sensation of flying in a time machine—it’s quite amazing!
