Seven Devotionals to Start This New Year

Many devotionals (especially those marketed toward women) are, sadly, very light on Scripture but heavy on personal stories and experiences (a lot of “fluff and stuff”). But the devotionals we should be consuming ought to be the opposite: deeply rooted in the abiding and unchanging truth of God’s Word. And that’s what you’ll find in all the devotionals below. Each one leans heavily into God’s Word, encouraging you with God’s truth and helping you know, believe, and defend his truth. And that’s exactly what each believer—man, woman, or child—needs in these dark and discouraging times!

Yes, this new book of mine is a commentary, but it’s broken up into short sections and designed to be enjoyed by the whole family, making it a great “deep dive” devotional of Genesis chapters 1–11 (but really, I take you all over the Bible as we study those foundational chapters). This unique commentary, answering all the questions I’ve been asked over the years, is a great way to ground your family in biblical truth.
• Beginning: Family Worship in Genesis. If 2023 is the year you’d love to begin the spiritual discipline of family worship time, consider this comprehensive guide to studying Genesis during a daily worship time.
