Darwin’s Finches—Icons of Evolution?

At the Creation Museum, there is an exhibit on natural selection, the process which evolutionists claim is part of the mechanism for evolution. One of the main examples of natural selection used in students’ textbooks in public schools to supposedly demonstrate evolution is that of Darwin’s finches.

There are different species of Darwin’s finches on the Galápagos Islands. I was taught that finches from the mainland arrived in the Galápagos and, through natural selection and mutations, became different species of different sizes with different beak sizes.

However, as we show in the exhibit, there is far more variation in dog species and breeds than we see in these finches, and no one uses different dog breeds (the result of artificial selection) to claim this is evidence of evolution.

What evolutionists call natural selection is just a sorting out of the information already present in the DNA of finches.

What evolutionists call natural selection is just a sorting out of the information already present in the DNA of finches. What were they? Finches. What are they? Finches. What will they be? Finches. This is not evolution.

There is much more that can be said about this (I encourage you to check out this article for more information), and this is only one small exhibit in the Creation Museum among many that confirm the truth of God’s Word and answer many of the questions of those who attack the history God has revealed in Genesis.

Visit the Galápagos Islands with Us

But if you’d like to dive really deep, you can visit the Galápagos Islands and even see the infamous Darwin’s finches for yourself. Yes, that’s right, we’re hosting an exploration of the Galápagos Islands, May 28–June 7, 2024, from a biblical worldview/creationist perspective.

You’ll discover, as you meet giant tortoises; snorkel in crystal-clear waters among sea turtles, penguins, sea lions, marine iguanas, reef sharks, rays, and a whole host of reef fish; and explore 1,200 species within the orchid kind in an orchidarium, that the Galápagos Islands aren’t a laboratory for evolution but rather for created kinds.

Reserve your spot today before the trip sells out at CreationMuseum.org.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
