New Experience Coming to Ark Encounter’s Ararat Ridge Zoo

I’m sure you guessed it—coming to Ararat Ridge Zoo is a 30-minute Behind-the-Scenes Sloth Experience with Felix, our popular Hoffmann’s two-toed sloth. This experience will require a separate paid ticket.

During our sloth experience, guests will:

• Learn about the sloth kind
• Interact with fascinating biofacts like a sloth skull and a claw from an extinct giant ground sloth
• Head to the sloth habitat to meet a sloth trainer and Felix
• Enjoy watching Felix receive training or enrichment
• Feed Felix and take pictures with him
• Take home a special souvenir

This fun program will be available for all guests ages 6 and up (however, ages 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult). It requires a separate ticket, and there are only six spots available per day (Monday–Saturday at 11 a.m.), so it will likely sell out quickly due to how popular Felix is and how much guests of all ages enjoy Ararat Ridge Zoo. And a portion of the proceeds from the sloth experience will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse as they work to meet the needs of people in Latin America, the native range of sloths!
