Bathed in Prayer

AiG staff are a praying staff. This ministry is bathed in prayer. Each work day, we open with prayer at 8:30 a.m. Not only do we pray for America (and Christians worldwide), the AiG ministry, our supporters, etc., but we also pray for those who send in specific prayer requests.

I have included two photographs of our staff as we set time aside to pray on Tuesday morning—Election Day.

Two New AiG Additions

We praise the Lord for two new additions to the AiG famiy.

Congratulations to Jesse (Creation Museum sculptor) and Cydney (Administration) on the birth of Kate Evelyn, born Thursday, October 30.

Congratulations also to Seth and Stacia (AiG curriculum writer) McKeever on the birth of their son, Kieran Douglas. He was born November 3.

Blown Away

Each month at AiG, we invite pastors to visit the ministry, give them a tour through the Creation Museum, provide them lunch, and I speak to them about the mission of AiG. I’ve included a photograph taken at such a pastors’ luncheon last week.

One of the pastors wrote the following on his blog after his visit:

Today I went to the Creation Museum outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, as part of a pastor’s tour and lunch. I have to tell you I was pleasantly surprised. I expected the museum to be decent—I have heard good things about it. But I was blown away by the quality of production as well as the size of the museum and grounds. I thought it would be a couple of rooms. It’s not. You can easily spend the day there. And then there are the gardens, walking path, petting zoo, etc. outside.

If you have ever been to Disney—that’s the quality you will find here. The museum is interactive (another surprise) with animated animals and people, TV screens all over the place, and outstanding ‘set’ design. I’m telling you—I’ve been to Disney—this is on par.

However, the biggest and best surprise was the main intent of the museum. Contrary to popular belief (and its name even!), the museum exists not to argue creation, per se—but to affirm biblical inspiration and inerrancy! I loved that part. I was thrilled by how this museum challenges visitors to think of their worldview and to consider a biblical worldview. The stock for Answers in Genesis, the parent ministry of the Creation Museum, skyrocketed in my view.

Two things. First, if you are anywhere in the region, or if you ever have the opportunity—go to the Creation Museum. It is well worth it. . . . They have plenty of animated dinosaurs. It is also a good opportunity for me to reaffirm creation, God’s power, etc. . . . If you have a grade school child or up—it will work for them!

Second, I want to challenge you to consider your view of creation and Scripture. Go to the ministry’s website and kick around some. Think about what you believe and why you believe it. How would you respond to someone who challenges the biblical record? What would you say?

Quiet ourselves

(Psalm 131:1–2) LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

From chattering news & election outcomes that did not go as hoped, peace comes when we quiet ourselves & in humility; leave alone great things too high for us.
