The UK “Mocker-Blogger”

by Ken Ham

Over the years, we have found the British press on the whole to be the most vitriolic in their reports on the AiG ministry and Creation Museum—probably writing the most mocking scoffing press reports on the biblical creation ministry we have seen.

Apparently a British reporter and photographer (unknown to us) visited the Creation Museum recently and wrote up an online report (we are not sure if it appeared in the magazine’s print edition ) in the New Statesman. Wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Statesman] describes this magazine this way (one of our staff says this is an accurate summary):

The New Statesman is a British left-wing political magazine published weekly in London. The current editor is Jason Cowley, whose appointment was announced on 16 May 2008. The magazine is committed to "development, human rights and the environment, global issues the mainstream press often ignores".
In the issue dated 29 May 2006, then editor John Kampfner stated that the New Statesman remained “true to its heritage of radical politics.”

So what did a reporter for a radical left-wing political magazine say about the Creation Museum? Well (not surprisingly), showing his bias and worldview, mocked the museum over and over again—but at the same time made (grudgingly given I’m sure) comments to compliment us, admitting that the Creation Museum is very professional and first class in its approach. Actually, from what he wrote, I believe he understood the basic messages of the museum and he has heard the gospel clearly presented—he is without excuse. So pray for him.

He entitled his article “Putting the fun in fundamentalism.” Here are a couple of short excerpts:

The whole thing does a brilliant job of making fundamentalist religious dogma fun. No hellfire and brimstone here. Instead it's all tactile exhibits, bright and chatty films ("Ever wonder where canyons came from...?") and, outside, a petting zoo. I was happy to skip this part, if only because there's something distinctly sinister about two grown men wandering around a zoo on their own, but my photographer insisted, and promptly got spat on by a camel…To give it its dues, the Creation Museum does a great job of making scripture fun, and beats hands down any religious studies lesson I was ever put through.

DEVOTION

Personally spoken to us
(Heb 1:1-2) God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
There is a great wonder that like a precious hidden jewel we marvel at & it is that through the Bible the Lord Jesus Christ has personally spoken to us.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying
