Sneak Preview of Startling Light Display

by Ken Ham

I have included a photograph taken this week of just a fraction of the light displays one can experience at the Creation Museum this Christmas. Tonight the museum is open until 9:00 p.m., so visitors can view the incredible display (though it is still not quite finished yet). I drove past the Creation Museum late last night and was so impressed with what one can see from outside the grounds—let alone experience the display up close.

Only One Week to Go for the Live Nativity and “Road to Bethlehem”

Unique, hard to describe, startling, world class—don’t miss the special live nativity and “Road to Bethlehem” program at the Creation Museum December 12 through January 4. Check the Creation Museum website for dates and times—the “Road to Bethlehem” program features on limited days—but don’t miss it!

Cincinnati Enquirer Columnist on the Zoo/Museum Controversy

An interesting column appeared in yesterday’s Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper about the recent controversy (see previous blog) with the canceled combo ticket with the Cincinnati Zoo (across the Ohio River from our museum). Here is an excerpt from the column:
The live Nativity at the Creation Museum will have an actual, living, cud-chewing camel. Frightening. There will also be goats and sheep. Terrifying. Cuddly lambs might seem harmless to the average visitor, but some people are scared witless by the possibility that some innocent, devout secularist could accidentally wander onto the grounds of the Creation Museum and get exposed to radioactive Christianity or other dangerous ideas that should be outlawed. . . .

“It's a little sad that the zoo would cave in to a cyber war,” Ham said. He believes most of the protests came from people who don't live anywhere near Cincinnati–instigated by . . . a “godless liberal” blogger-atheist who has made a hobby of spiteful attacks on Christians, Christmas and the Creation Museum . . . .

Many of the protests reek of intolerance—spluttering insults, condescending arrogance, defensive personal attacks and irrational name-calling in the name of science. It makes me wonder: If the science is so unshakeable, what are they afraid of? Why wouldn’t they welcome a debate? Why not encourage open-minded exploration? Isn’t that what scientific inquiry is all about? . . .

But it seems like the only thing Americans have really perfected in the past 30 years is the art of being mortally offended by ridiculous trivialities. So here we go again. Some insecure secularists get scared by ideas they fear, and off we go—another brick wall of political correctness must be built to shield feeble minds from taboo thoughts and theories.

Don’t Be Intimidated

We have received a lot of feedback from people sending us a copy of the emails they sent to media, the zoo, etc., or just sending a message to encourage us over the recent controversy concerning the now-canceled combo ticket. Here are a few examples:
1. I am extremely disappointed with your decision to break with the Creation Museum this Christmas holiday season. Who ever is influencing this decision shows a religious hostility towards biblical Christianity. Why would you even listen to them. I would say that 95% of the folks in your area believe in the Christmas celebration and would also enjoy the activities at the Creation Museum. Please do not be intimidated by the vocal atheist groups. After all the majority of people are still Christians that support the full meaning of the Christmas season.
2. Hello, I just wanted to point out how desperate the secularists are to manipulate your current poll [www.NKY.com, which is no longer posted] on the Cincinnati Zoo pulling out of the business deal with the Creation Museum; honestly their childish and manipulative behavior needs to be shared with the community . . . .
3. Hey, I would like to say keep it up, Mr. Ham. I am amazed by your perseverance and especially not losing your temper like so many evolutionists act. It just shows how deeply attached they are to their “science.” Keep going and giving all of us aspiring creationists teachers/leaders the hope we need. I'll keep you in my prayers.
4. [AiG’s customer service sent me this message:] A man . . . called just a little bit ago; he had heard about the zoo situation, and he just felt lead to call and tell you of his family’s support. He wanted to encourage you as well; he was reading in Psalms this morning and wanted me to pass this along. . . . he suggested that you check out Psalms 7, especially the last few verses. He wanted you to know that there are people out there that love what you do and to keep up to good fight. He hopes the verses are an encouragement to you.

Devotion

Died for

(1 Chronicles 10:13–14) So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.

Some may ascribe to bad luck or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but, there are no second causes with God.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken
